MAKING MODERN LIVING POSSIBLE One Product Numerous Applications Electronic ontrollers for Heating, ooling, Ventilation and Air ondition

Electronic ontrollers from Danfoss: Only a Few Products for an Endless Number of Applications The EL omfort and EL Apex 0 product ranges consist of electronic controllers for temperature control in heating and domestic hot water (DHW) systems. The controllers ensure a high comfort level and optimum energy utilization. The components of EL omfort The EL omfort range consists of EL omfort 0, 00 and 00 each in an elegant and timeless design. EL omfort 0 is the choice for simple heating systems, for which the installer or user prefer a traditional operation. EL omfort 00 appeals to users who prefer an increased number of options. The series offers many functional options and can be used for commercial installations. EL omfort 00 is the advanced controller with a large number of functions, such as: Two control circuits + thermostatic function, optimizer function, point control, LON communication etc. The intelligent card concept ensures optimum user-friendliness of this advanced controller. The range also comprises an elegantly designed remote control in two versions, which is connected to the controller via a two-wire cable. EL omfort The future is in the ards The EL omfort range and its advanced chip card not only meet your present demands but also the future requirements you might have for heating control. With EL omfort 00 new demands are covered by new cards with new settings. The few basic models and the large variety of EL ards give you a considerably better and quicker overview of the unique application opportunities offered by the EL omfort range. By means of the chosen card, it is easy to set the controller and simple to change the factory settings precisely to the relevant type of system and required settings. The schedule in the EL omfort can be programmed for each day in the week. The building will be heated in the comfort periods you request. This is environmentally sound and saves money. Some advantages of EL omfort: Optimizer and boost function Return temperature limitation based on outdoor temperature Frost protection Heating cut out function Year clock and automatic changeover between summer and winter time opy function to/from the intelligent EL ard Anti-bacteria function (DHW circuit) ommunication via the standardized LonTalk Protocol, RS, M-bus and MODBUS options Motor protection Automatic setback

Flexibility and Easy Operation Auto tuning and motor protection A precondition for a well functioning heating system is that the correct settings are made before it is put to use. Adjustments are necessary to preset the control parameters. Presetting gives the following benefits: A high degree of comfort Improved protection against lime deposits in DHW heat exchangers Energy saving Long operating life Minimum service The introduction of automatic setting of control parameters on the controller itself, i.e. auto tuning and motor protection, gives optimum control of the DHW system. This ensures a high degree of comfort, stable control during idle operation and, subsequently, longer motor life. The setting of control parameters can thus be reduced to one simple and reliable procedure. Auto tuning is especially necessary in DHW systems. Remote service possibilities with WebAccess The WebAccess makes your EL omfort 00 and 00 accessible via Internet or modem. You can define different levels of access going from monitoring to wide control of parameters in the EL controller. All applications, updates and other information are placed on the Danfoss Heating Portal from where it can be downloaded. The WebAccess is used in a LON network communicating with up to 4 EL controllers. Other components such as energy meters can also be monitored via the WebAccess. The result of Auto Tuning Tap Water Temperature ( ) 80 0 0 0 40 0 0 0 0 0.00 4.00 Time (min.) Tap Water ( ) Sec. Flow (m /h) 0.00.00 0.00.00 0.00 Flow Rate (m/h) Auto Tuning with EL omfort Open for the tap water to get a constant tapping load Activate Auto Tuning by pushing a button Wait - minutes to complete the tuning

Some advantages of the EL Apex 0: Temperature, pressure and flow control Data logging facilities Alarm functions associated to either system, application or monitoring failures EL Apex 0 configurable controller The EL Apex 0 is a dedicated district heating controller preprogrammed with all relevant control functions and applications. The controller is applicable in large substations and distributor stations and can be connected as stand alone or in network. As a consequence it can be used in Supervisory ontrol And Data Acquisition systems (SADA). The EL Apex 0 can be extended with a number of modules to fit any heating application with up to circuits within heating or DHW. Easy and cost-effective commissioning and service; a variety of application templates are ready for use Back up/restore function for similar applications Different user levels for simple controlling or programming Make up water function Twin-pump facility OP server RS/OP server Modem

Advanced ontrolling in a Simple User Interface EL omfort displays for end users and installers With EL omfort it is possible to control all stages of the heat consumption right down to the smallest detail and at the same time take external factors into account such as the outdoor temperature, the insulation of the heated area and the radiator capacity of the building. It is an easy task to operate EL omfort 00 and 00. You only have to push a few buttons to enter all the settings. End user displays 0 0 9 0 9 8 4 0 9 8 4 Temperature control: This display provides a quick overview of the outdoor and indoor temperatures, the requested comfort temperature, and the status mode of the system. Normal display: This display gives you a quick overview of the time, the outdoor and indoor temperatures, the selected comfort periods of the day, and the status mode of the system. Time programming: This display informs you about the time interval of the comfort periods if additional and personal comfort periods have been entered to meet the special demands you might have. EL Apex 0 - Flexible user interface and control functions The controller and its service tool is operated by means of a P and either on-site or remotely via a modem. The service tool offer four different user levels: supervisor, service user, daily user and default user. The required flow temperature is typically based on the outdoor temperature (weather compensation) but can also be influenced by: Schedule (comfort/setback) Optimized time control Boost function Maximum and minimum flow temperature limitation Return temperature, flow and energy limitation Anti-bacteria function (DHW circuit)

ontroller mode: Used to switch between manual operation, scheduled operation, constant comfort temperature, constant setback temperature, and stand-by mode. Arrow buttons: Move from line to line in the menus. Shift button: Switches between the various settings you can change: Temperature, changeover point etc. +/- buttons: Adjust different values and manual operation. ircuit selector: Switches between the heating circuit and DHW/heating circuit. Installer displays B ON ON ON ON ON 8 ON 0 0 0 4 ontrol of system components: Displays a status of the pumps, motorized valves etc. in the heating system as well as the current system temperatures (flow and return temperatures). ontrol of system temperature: Here the heat curve is set the relationship between required flow temperature and outdoor temperature. Optimum start function: The calculation of the optimum start and stop times includes factors such as insulation, radiators and system capacity to ensure that the requested temperature is reached at the requested time. Adjustment of control parameters where each parameter has a short description and the actual value is shown. The primary values of the heating circuit are shown in the top of the window. The primary parameters and sensor values of the heating circuit.

EL omfort Master / Slave Applications Example of connection of more (with address) EL omfort controllers on the same BUS. The advantage is that only one outdoor temperature sensor has to be connected to the master. Via the BUS, the outdoor temperature signal, time and date are sent to the slaves. In the example above, the master can be EL omfort 00 with P0 application or EL omfort 00 with / / 4 / 0 / / /. One slave is EL omfort 00 with, another slave is EL omfort 0. 4

EL omfort Master / Slave Applications System type : Example of connection of more (with address) EL omfort controllers on the same BUS. The advantage is that only one outdoor temperature sensor has to be connected to the master. Via the BUS, the outdoor temperature signal, time and date are sent to the slaves.
