Nutshells Link End Road Corse Lawn Gloucester GL19 4NN
Nutshells This beautiful black and white former farmhouse, which is believed to date back to around 1650, enjoys an enviable setting in the pretty Worcestershire hamlet of Corse Lawn. We had always admired the hamlet for its peaceful nature and the wide expanses of open grassland that surround it, says Roger, but when people move here they tend to stay, and so it s rare for houses to come onto the market. And that is why we were so thrilled when we stumbled upon Nutshells, adds Carole. We purchased the property thirty-two years ago, says Roger, and at the time it was in need of some TLC, so we fully renovated the house and extended it to make it a really comfortable family home. It s quite traditional in terms of layout, says Carole, and it s brimming with really attractive period features. There are exposed beams in most of the rooms, and a beautiful inglenook fireplace in the living room in which we have installed a woodburner, which keeps the house cosy and warm during winter. The house also has a generous amount of windows throughout, adds Roger, so it s wonderfully light and bright. Another gorgeous feature that drew us to Nutshells was the garden, says Roger. It envelops the house and extends to around one acre. It s a beautiful space that over the years we ve worked extremely hard to enhance. We have a lovely south-facing patio area, a number of attractive lawned areas, and lots of mature trees, shrubs and flowers that provide colour all year round; it s a real haven. * * These comments are the personal views of the current owner and are included as an insight into life at the property.
