EQUIPMENT for industrial processes Product Types Combustion chambers series G0 (heat exchangers) are manufactured in 12 different capacities ranging from 50 kw to 1170 kw of output, depending on the construction type, and can be fired either with gas or liquid fuels. Applications for AHUs and Rooftop (standard application: low t needs) G0XXXX and G0XXXX-TF series include basic models conceived to work in standard operating plants, i.e. common air handling units where temperatures differentials are not too high and air flow rates are consistent enough ( t values ranging from 20 to 35 C ). TF series differs from basic series because of its built-in front flue gas exhaust, installed on the same side as the burner, to ease installation in specific cases. Applications Processing Machinery (special application: hi t needs) G0XXXX-2 and G0XXXX-310 have been designed for special working conditions, such as process plants, painting or drying cabinets, or high static pressures of air). G0XXXX-2 exchangers can stand high pressure (up to 2,500 Pa) thanks to their solid construction and highresistance materials, while the advanced materials used for G0XXXX-310 exchangers allow these units to work at very high air temperatures (up to 280 C) or with high temperature differentials. G0 series / Heat Exchangers Technical Features AISI 430 and AISI 310 stainless steel combustion chamber, with wide exchange surface Flame inversion furnace with three-pass, fully welded, flue gas layout. High efficiency heat exchanger made of AISI 441 stainless steel with low carbon content. The exchanger is formed by a streamlined tube bundle with conic section with an aerodynamic profile(low pressure drops in air circuit and high efficiency) Patented tube heat exchanger (Patent n. MI94U00260). Efficiency up to 94,6%. In compliance with all EC existing regulations. 4
Why choose G0? Reliability Quality Technology Ecology Security Advanced construction methods Efficiency up to 102% These are just some of the features that make ApenGroup s heat exchanger modules the excellence of the heating system. Choosing the Burner The following types of burners can be installed with GO modules Modulation Two stages (high/low flame) ON/OFF Gh modules can be installed with burners produced by main burner manufactures on the market. High efficiency exchanger modules can only be matched to gas burners. 5
GO / Features Table of materials The following table shows naming correspondence and content for steel types used in the heat exchangers G0: Other materials and/or requirement will be evaluated according to specific requests. Table of stainless steel materials USA EN FORMULA AISI 430 1.4016 X6 Cr17 AISI 310 1.4845 X8 CrNi 25-21 AISI 441 1.4509 X2 CrTiNb 18 AISI 304 1.4301 X5 CrNi 18-10 Condensate Drain When exchangers series G0 are assembled into Roof Top or air handling units that feature high air flow rates and minimum heat drop, a condensate drain system from the exchanger must be provided. All exchangers include five fittings for condensate drain. These fittings are installed on front, back, left and right manifold and on the bottom wall of back flue pipe. Condensate is allowed only if a gas burner is installed: it must be totally absent when oil burners are used. Condensate Drain Standard on the back ( A request on the front ). 6
GO / Assembling the module into the units AIR FLOW NOT ALLOWED The module can be installed into air heating units either vertically or horizontally. Air can be blown in two ways: PARALLEL FLOW: cold air flows from colder to warmer end of the exchanger (tube bundle). COUNTER-CURRENT FLOW: cold air flows from warmer to colder end of the exchanger (combustion chamber). You can choose the solution that best suits your needs. PARALLEL FLOW COUNTER-CURRENT FLOW: AIR FLOW NOT ALLOWED Modules in PARALLEL Assembling one or more modules When required power output exceeds max output or is below minimum output of a single exchanger, multiple G0xxxx modules can be assembled into a single AHU, RTU or process heater unit, thus covering any range of required output. Using convenient precautions, modules can be assembled either in series or in parallel and air flow can be parallel or counter-current to heat flow. Modules in series 7
