How they work The radiator construction means that they have a virtually unlimited life expectancy, and the technology contained within the radiator for heat conservation and heat distribution capability is extremely efficient. The fluted design of the radiators dramatically increase their surface area for greater radiator heat distribution. Within each radiator, there are up to twenty independent blocks, which heat up almost immediately but which cool very slowly thereafter. Once a room reaches your desired temperature, the thermostat turns the radiator off, but due to the efficient design, heat is retained for longer, meaning that the room temperature doesn't plummet as with other heating systems. The overall result is based on three heat principles: During the heat cycle, some of the heat is stored in the blocks Warmth is supplied to the body of the heaters by clay cores and radiated into the room through the flutes Cool air is attracted into the flutes from floor level and reintroduced as warm air through the flutes. The advantage for you is that the radiator need only use power for a small proportion of each hour and the stored heat keeps the room at the required temperature for longer. Questions and answers Where can I use these electric radiators? The Heizen range of electric radiators can be used to provide a heating solution in a number of locations, such as bedrooms, bathrooms, living rooms and dining rooms, caravans, kitchens, conservatories, extensions, shops and offices and more. They are ideal to replace old style storage heaters as well as being used individually, without affecting existing heating systems. Are the electric radiators portable? Yes, the radiators can be used on legs, castors or wall mounted. I need to replace my storage heaters. Can you help? Yes. Our products are ideally suited for replacing storage heaters. If your storage heaters are nearing the end of their life, or if you simply want a more efficient way to heat your home, the range of electric radiators are an ideal solution. Are these electric radiators the same as storage heaters? No. Storage heaters store up heat during the night and release it during the day. These radiators are electric heaters that provide heat when switched on, just like central heating. Storage heaters have many drawbacks; because of the way they work, you can pay for heat that you don t actually need or run out of heat when you do need it. They also generate very dry heat, which can cause discomfort. The radiators are slimline, don t dry out the atmosphere and are completely controllable, so you only pay for what you need. Will I save money on my heating bill? Available in a variety of colours How many radiators will I need? There is no simple formula for calculating how many radiators you will need. The answer depends on a number of factors including room size, ventilation, and the materials used in floors and walls. Can you install my radiators? Yes, we are able to supply only, or to supply and install; whichever you prefer. All our products are quick and easy to fit and can be plugged into a standard 13A domestic socket, or installed into an existing circuit. Are your products guaranteed? Yes, all our radiators are guaranteed for a period of 10 years, subject to our warranty Terms and Conditions which are available on request. We provide a 2 year guarantee on the thermostats. Can I choose the colour? Yes. These electric radiators are available in RAL 9001 offwhite as standard. If you would prefer an alternative colour, we are able to supply more than 200 more options. How long until my order is delivered? We keep most radiators in stock, for immediate delivery. Some sizes are made to order and so can take longer; we can advise at the point of order. Guidelines In order to efficiently heat any room, there are some aspects which you should consider when choosing electric radiators. The benefits: You should choose the right size and quantity of electric radiators. You need to consider where the radiator will go, and that it will fit into the required space. The output of the radiator should be considered so that it s providing the optimum amount of heat for the electricity being used. Clean, effective and simple to operate No boiler, plumbing or pipework required Fully controllable on a room by room basis Can be wall mounted, on casters or on feet Can be plugged into a 13amp socket or mains-connected Come with a 10 year guarantee and are maintenance free The radiator size, wattage and quantity will depend on the size of the room (including ceiling height), and how well insulated the room is. Factors include whether the room has cavity wall insulation, whether the windows are double glazed, the number of doors, and whether there are any draughts. Generally speaking, newer properties have better insulation than older properties. The ceiling height has an impact, and the most appropriate radiator will depend on whether the room has a standard ceiling or has a high or vaulted ceiling. More powerful radiators should be selected for non-standard ceilings and it may be better for a more even spread of heat to go for two smaller radiators rather than one large one. Every heating situation is different and should be judged individually, but this information should give you an idea of things to consider when choosing an electric radiator.
