SAFETY INFORMATION Do not touch any exposed cables or wires. Do not operate the fridge in wet or damp environments. Do not submerge the fridge in water. When using the fridge in the vehicle or boat, make sure that the circuit being used is fused. Any installation of DC power systems should be handled by a qualified professional. Make sure the source voltage is correct. The technical data label has the voltage data for the fridge. Ensure that the fridge is kept steady and secure as it can become heavy when filled. A filled fridge may be heavy so be cautious when attempting to lift it. NOTES ON USING THE PRODUCT Good ventilation is necessary for the fridge. Allow a gap of at least 20cm around the vents to allow for airflow. If its power supply is cut off, the fridge will switch off automatically and turn back on when it starts to receive power. Do not place any electrical devices inside the refrigerator as moisture could harm them. Frost build-up can affect the cooling ability of the fridge. Humidity in the unit can cause this frost. Placing your refrigerator near a heat source can reduce its efficiency and heat up its contents. Make sure that you keep the fridge several metres away from heat sources. Place the refrigerator on a flat surface and away from any edges. When using the fridge in a vehicle, please use a fastening device to secure it. page 1

CLEANING AND MAINTAINING YOUR REFRIGERATOR Keep the fridge clean by wiping it down with a damp cloth, inside and out, each week. If the fridge is dirty DO NOT use soaps, abrasive products or detergents, as these may damage the refrigerator. Instead, use a small amount of sodium bicarbonate fully dissolved in lukewarm water. Rinse thoroughly with clean water and dry carefully. Never clean the appliance under running water or using a hose. Do not leave food in the refrigerator when it is unpowered as the food could spoil. page 3

TROUBLESHOOTING PROBLEM The appliance is not turning on. SOLUTION Check the power supply. Ensure the power plug is placed firmly in the socket. Check whether the fuse needs replacing. Make sure that the fridge has been turned on. See page 2 for instructions. The food inside is frozen or very icy. The fridge s temperature is too low. See the instructions on page 2 for how to increase the temperature. The set temperature might be inappropriate. Try changing it as per page 2. The lid could be unlocked, open or is not able to fully close. Remove the blockage and close the fridge completely. Bad performance in refrigeration The refrigerator s seal may be broken or failing. Check to see if you see any faults and contact Evakool if you need a replacement. The fridge may have poor ventilation. Try removing any objects that are blocking the ventilation vents. The fridge may be overfull. Try removing some items. The contents of the fridge may have been overly warm when placed inside. Let food cool down before refrigerating them. The sound of moving liquid can be heard within the refrigerator Unusual noise can be heard when the refrigerator is working There is a heat source near the unit. Move the fridge away from sources of heat. This is normal behaviour and is due to the flow of the refrigerant. No fix should be necessary. The refrigerator is not placed on a level surface. Carefully move the fridge to a level surface. Be careful not to move heavy objects. Something may have come loose in the refrigerator. Contact Evakool for advice about this. page 4

ERROR CODES The Adventure Kings 50L Fridge has an error system where a code is displayed as a series of flashes over a four second period. Each sequence of flashes indicates a specific error as shown in the table below. NOTE: this fridge is fitted with an automatic 60 second restart delay. This will be activated if your fridge enters an error mode. It s designed to protect the fridge if an error occurs. CODE WARNING SOLUTION 1 flash every four seconds Low voltage Please check the source voltage to ensure it is above the cut out. Try lowering the voltage cut out setting to LOW. NOTES ON OPERATION Power: The electronic control module controls the compressor motor and has the function of a three-stage battery protection. When the input voltage drops below the minimum, the compressor will cut out; when the voltage comes back up to the cut-in value, the compressor will restart automatically. Battery Protection: The Danfoss compressor requires approximately 11 volts (for a 12V system) or 23.0 volts (for a 24V system) to operate. If the voltage drops below this, the fridge will stop running.
