Stainless Steel: No. 4. 2.3 FABRICATION Fire Protection Cabiuets: Provide manufacturer's standard box (tub) with trim, frame, door, and hardware to suit cabinet type, trim style, and door style indicated. 1. Weld joints and grind smooth. 2. Provide factory-drilled monnting holes. 3. Prepare doors and flames to receive locks. 4. Install door locks at factory. Cabinet Doors: Fabricate doors according to manufactarer's standards, from materials indicated and coordinated with cabinet types and lrin styles selected. 1. Fabricate door flames with tubular stiles and rails and hollow-metal design, miuimum 1/2 incl thick. 2. Fabricate door frames of one-piece const a ction with edges flanged. 3. Miter and weld perimeter door frames. C. Cabinet Trim: Fabricate cabinet tvhn in one piece with corners mitered, welded, and grouted smooth. 2.4 GENERAL FINISH REQUIREMENTS B. C. D. Comply with NAAMM's "Metal Finisbes Manual for Architectural and Metal Products" for recommendations for applying and designating finishes. Protect mechauical finishes on exposed snrfaces of fire protection cabinets from damage by applying a strippable, temporary protective covering before shipping. Finish fire protection cabinets after assembly. Appearance of Finished Work: Noticeable variations in same piece are not acceptable. Variations in appearance of adjoining components are acceptable if they are within the range of approved Samples and are assembled or installed to miminize contrast. 2.5 STAINLESS-STEEL FINISHES B. Surface Preparation: Remove tool and die marks and stretch lines, or blend into finish. Polished Finishes: Grind and polish snrfaces to produce uniform finish, free of cross scratches. Run grain of directioual finishes with Ioug dimension of each piece. When polishing is completed, passivate and rinse surfaces. Remove embedded foreigu matter and leave surfaces chemically clean. PART 3 - EXECUTION 3.1 EXAMANATION Examine walls and partitions for suitable f aming depth and blocking where semirecessed cabinets will be installed. B. Proceed with installation only after unsatisfactory conditions have been corrected. 3.2 PREPARATION Prepare recesses for semirecessed fire protection cabinets as reqoired by type and size ofcabioet and trim style. 3.3 INSTALLATION General: Install fire protection cabinets in locations and at moonting heights indicated: 1. Fire Protection Cabinets: 54 inches above finished floor to top of cabinet. B. Fire Protection Cabinets: Fasten cabinets to stn ch re, square and plumb. 1. Fasten mounting brackets to inside surface of fire protection cabinets, square and plumb. 3.4 ADJUSTING AND CLEANING Remove temporary protective coverings and strippable films, if any, as fire protection cabinets ale installed unless otherwise indicated in manufacturer's written iastallation instructions. B. Adjust fire protection cabinet doors to operate easily without binding. devices operate properly. Verify that integral locking C. D.
