HOW THE DYNAMIC SCRUBBER WORKS Dust-laden air enters the Dynamic Scrubber tangentially, forcing heavier dust particles into the swirling water and out via the slurry outlet. Lighter dust particles move through the impingement vane, with the air stream providing an increased wetted surface area for particle impingement. Intermediate size particles are collected here, then flushed through the vanes and out via the slurry outlet. The air is essentially free of dust particles at this stage and is drawn into the interconnecting fan duct with sufficient liquid to flush clean these internal surfaces. Scrubbing liquid is introduced into the eye of the radialbladed fan, causing complete flush cleaning of the internal surfaces of the fan. Fine dust particles are then captured by turbulent mixing of the liquid and air, the impact of rotating wetted blades and dynamic forces due to high tip speeds, causing impingement of dust particles on the moving layer of water. At the water elimination stage, the collected clean air and dust / liquid mixture discharges tangentially into the droplet separator, where cyclonic action causes separation of the slurry from the clean air. Liquid droplets are centrifuged against the scrubber walls to discharge through an internal cone to the slurry outlet. The clean air, free of liquid droplets, is discharged vertically through the scrubber stack outlet.
