Andrew McCracken General Manager Head of Fire Engineering UK Andrew had always played a key role in the senior consultancy team and having excelled in this role, we recently saw him take the position of General Manager Head of Fire Engineering UK in early 2017. Andrew has an incredibly strong profile, of which, his building control background helps the team to look at projects from another angle entirely and his First Class degree in Fire Engineering means that he is a truly valuable asset to consultancy. His responsibilies include the management of the fire risk assessment business in the UK and he has been actively involved supporting the development of third party accreditation schemes for fire risk assessors. Neil has extensive experience of undertaking risk assessments in the following sectors: Health sector, including acting as retained Fire Adviser to various NHS Trusts Education sector schools, colleges and universities Industrial sites Power stations Underground train stations and over ground train stations Major airports in the UK, Cuba, Panama and Madagascar Neil also heads up various projects where Exova Warringtonfire is appointed in either the capacity of advisory expert or expert witness, these projects often involve large scale site inspection activity, review and evaluation of as built details and providing expert opinion on the fire performance qualities of various building materials and fire stopping products. Fire risk assessments and the development of interim measures to address identified issues often form an integral part of these projects. This role often also involves liaising with product manufacturers and installation contractors to support the preparation of engineering judgements / assessments to address as constructed site details. Neil joined Exova in August 2007 and prior to that he worked for an independent regional fire safety consultancy. Before working in the fire engineering consultancy sector Neil held the role of Fire Protection Engineer for a major insurance company and is an Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute. Mark Jones - Principal Consultant Since joining Exova Warringtonfire in 2008, Mark has played a crucial role in a number of UK and International projects. Besides developing highly-detailed fire safety strategies for a range of complex building types, Mark has particular experience in the field of full-frame finite element analysis and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), to analyse smoke flow through buildings; Mark s other expertise extend to the application of analytical techniques, such as thermal radiation analysis, to determine the fire resistance requirements, smoke modelling calculations to determine the ventilation requirements of buildings and evacuation analysis. Chris Hughes Associate and Quality Manager Chris has been involved in fire safety for over thirty years, with the largest proportion of his time spent in the Fire and Rescue Service; joining Exova Warringtonfire in 2005, Chris has been linked with both the Certification and Fire Engineering businesses.
