1. Installing the Pro-Clean tank: The Pro-Clean Stratified Tank must be installed by a certified company in a dry, frost-free space. Observe applicable laws, regulations and standards for boiler house piping and sanitary installations. Depending on its size, the Pro-Clean Stratified Tank can be carried into the space in which it will be installed upright or on its side or be brought in with lifting equipment. The only gripping points that may be used are the 6/4 sleeves (52 mm) or the two closed ¾ sleeved fittings on the lid and base. Follow the installation sequence step by step from a) to d). a) After it is brought in, lay the Pro-Clean Stratified Tank on its side, install the base insulation, stand it upright and place it in its intended location. Observe necessary clearances for installing the insulation and electrical heating element as well as any connections to other tanks. 26
b) When installing the electrical heating element, seal and screw in the 2 reducing sleeve (from the electrical heating element original accessories). c) The tank, including the spherical exchanger, can now be connected. A licensed specialist company is to make all necessary connections as indicated in the hydraulic connection plan provided by Tisun, depending on the purpose and additional components, and to start up the tank (see the Pro-Clean Spherical Exchanger installation instructions). Caution: Only connection materials made of noble metals (such as gunmetal, brass, or stainless steel) or plastics should be used for the domestic water connections (no. 2 and no. 13). Suitable immersion tubes (max. 100 mm) must be screwed into the ½ sleeves. The tank must then be checked for pressure and leakage. Observe the flow rule: According to the flow rule, nobler metals (such as copper) should not be used before less noble metals (such as steel) because they can dissolve the subsequent less-noble metal. This causes both corrosion in the piping system and increased contaminant loads in the drinking water. The flow rule applies not only to piping, but also to all used installation parts. español français italiano english deutsch 27
d) Install an expansion tank ( ET ) of sufficient size: Guideline: 10% of the total heating system water capacity. Calculating the admission pressure of the expansion tank: For example, building height 10 m = 1.0 bar Excess pressure = 0.5 bar Heating-side system pressure = 1.5 bar Admission pressure (membrane) = - 0.2 bar Admission pressure ET = 1.3 bar 28
2. Installing the Pro-Clean tank insulation: a) Tank insulation: Beginning with the two shells that connect to the spherical exchanger, click all three shells as tightly together as possible from top to bottom using the ratchet buckles. español deutsch français italiano english 29
b) Place the melamine resin lid and the PVC end cover on the tank. The ratchet buckles must be at the tightest position. c) All unused sleeves may be insulated using the round flexible foam plates. 30
d) Attach the ½ rosettes and the cover plates. español français english italiano deutsch e) If the spherical exchanger is not used, the melamine resin disks and the black cover caps are placed over the dummy flanges. 31
Pro-Clean Spherical Exchanger scope of delivery: 1 pc. Spherical exchanger 1 pc. Melamine resin insulating shell 1 pc. Melamine resin insulating lid with PVC cover 1 pc. Melamine resin insulating base (perforated) with PVC cover 8 pc. Flat seals 4 pc. Stratified charging flaps 16 pc. Washers ø 12 and nuts M12 2 pc. Aluminium rails with plate nuts and bolts 6 pc. Sealing band 32
3. Mounting the Pro-Clean Spherical Exchanger: a) The necessary fittings for the two connections on the spherical exchanger (ST1 and ST2) must be sealed, secured and brought into the proper position. deutsch english b) Attach 4 pieces of the included flat seals to the Pro-Clean Stratified Tank using installation sealing compound. Next, place the stratified charging discs into position in the order given (according to the drawing on the spherical exchanger) and once again install 4 flat seals using installation sealing compound. ST1 ST2 italiano français español 33
c) Secure the spherical exchanger from bottom to top using the washers and M12 nuts with a torque of 9 11 knm. d) If the spherical exchanger is used, the perforated inner portions of the insulating discs are removed, and the resulting rings are placed over the spherical exchanger connection pipes. e) Connect the solar lines to the indicated connections (red/blue) using a detachable connection. 34
4. Mounting the Pro-Clean Spherical Exchanger insulation a) After the Pro-Clean insulation is assembled, the labels may be removed and the included plate nuts may be placed in the pre-drilled holes. español deutsch français italiano english b) Screw on the aluminium rails. 35
c) Place the spherical exchanger melamine resin base around the collector inflow and return lines. d) Glue the included sealing bands onto the Pro-Clean tank s insulation as shown in the photo. One sealing band is glued onto the middle of the spherical exchanger. e) Attach the spherical exchanger insulation shell to the aluminium rail using screws. f) Place the insulating lid onto the top side of the spherical exchanger insulation, close it with the end cover, and fasten both the insulating lid and end cover with the dowels. 36
When retro-fitting a new spherical exchanger onto an existing Pro-Clean Stratified Tank: When working with PC tanks with rigid PU foam insulation and aluminium external casings, the spherical exchanger must be insulated onsite. With all other PC tanks, attach the spherical exchanger s insulation and mark the location of the aluminium sheet metal rails. To mount the aluminium rails with: a) PC tanks with PVC flexible foam external casing (since May 2001): Screw plasterboard anchors (e.g. type TOX GDK 32S) through the flexible foam casing into the PU insulation and mount the aluminium sheet metal rails. b) PC tank with melamine resin insulation and EPS external casing: Carefully use a drill (Ø 5 mm) to drill through the EPS external casing and likewise attach the rails with plasterboard anchors. deutsch english italiano español français 37
START-UP a) Fill the domestic water corrugated pipe to 2 bar b) Fill the tank with water and carry out a leakage test using a max. of 5 bar c) Bring the tank to heating-side system pressure (max. 3 bar) d) Using the FE valve, deaerate and refill the tank by the breather tube e) Fill the corrugated pipe with drinking water to the desired domestic pressure level (max. 6 bar) f) Once more, check all connections for leaks. 38
5. Safety notes In general, all legal regulations and applicable versions of the corresponding standards should be observed. Especially when used with solar energy systems or solid fuel boilers, we recommend that you install a thermostatic mixing valve in the hot water line to protect from scalds. Oxygen must be prevented from entering the heating side (risk of corrosion and sludge formation). Safety equipment, on both the sanitary and heating sides, must be provided onsite according to local and technical regulations (safety valve, manometer, etc.). To even out pressure variations in the service water system, TiSUN recommends the use of a suitable expansion tank. We recommend the use of a decalcification system for water hardness levels higher than 15 dh (German degrees of hardness) in order to prevent damage to devices in the entire household resulting from calcification. deutsch english italiano español français 39
