Building Regulations - Queensland Building regulations in QLD require all new buildings to be installed with a hot water system that reduces the impact of greenhouse gases. What type of new construction is affected? All new Class 1 buildings, as defined by the Queensland code, such as detached houses, townhouses or villa units (for a complete definition of Class 1 buildings, refer to www.dip.qld.gov.au) What types of water heaters can be used? A solar or heat pump water heater that is eligible to receive: a) In a building with 3 or more bedrooms, at least 22 Small-scale Technology Certificates (STCs) or, b) In a building with 1 or 2 bedrooms, at least 14 Small-scale Technology Certificates (STCs) or, c) A gas water heater with a five star energy rating.
DuxConnect Professional Installation Option DuxConnect is a professional installation service available for all Dux water heaters. To take advantage of the DuxConnect service you will need to complete the following steps; 1. Contact your Bunnings Trade Rep or DuxConnect (1300 DUX NOW) to discuss installation requirements and pricing. 2. Obtain a set of plans showing planned solar collector and tank locations. 3. Send set of plans along with a Bunnings purchase order for the supply and install to DuxConnect duxconnect@dux.com.au. 4. The builder will call 1300 DUX NOW to organise solar collector installation giving 5 working days notice. The solar collectors are mounted after roof completion, prior to safety rails and scaffolding being removed. Should you wish to utilise this service, contact your Bunnings Account Manager or DuxConnect for further information.
