When the machine is in defrost or cooling mode, the four way valve is activated. When the four way valve is activated, it inverts the thermodynamic process. i.e. low pressure and high pressure zone are inverted. In this position, the heat pump may heat the evaporator and cool the condenser. It helps to eliminate the ice during defrost or cools the water in cooling mode. If the ambient temperature is very low, the heat pump may start a defrost cycle, before restarting in heating mode again. The colder the ambient temperature, the more numerous defrost cycles. To calculate the right model of heat pump according to customer s needs you must use the utilization period and the swimming pool size.

2014 new features Working optimysed for low temperatures Heat pumps from Master range have a new exclusive system : o Compressor oil crank heater below 0 C o Bottom panel heater to drain the ice at low temperatures. o Thermostat to avoid the low temperature system to work when it is not necessary. This system aims to keep the Master heat pump working from -15 C! All range available with PVC UV proof panels (same design). Hydraulics connections at the back of the heat pump: Water tubes at the back (hidden), and possibility to install one of the sides close to a wall. «Blue fins» evaporator coating: Better resistance against corrosion and better condensation (hydrophobic coating). Defrost by reverse cycle on all models: Very efficient defrost. Cooling mode available. R410a refrigerant: Compliant with future environmental norms and better COP (5 to 10%). Very low noise level (one of the quietest on the market): Low speed and high efficiency fan + noise insulation. On all models, the digital controller can be remotely wall mounted (all accessories delivered with the machine)! Water flow switch o All heat pumps work autonomous and detect the water flow i.e. if the filtration pump is on or off. Selection As for all swimming pool heating systems, a swimming pool cover is absolutely needed (bubble cover, automatic cover or other), whenever the pool is not used. In the case of utilization from extending season to all year : - Indoor installation or under telescopic cover - Air heating and dehumidifying. The heating power needed depends on environment conditions and the geographic position of the installation. If the climate is colder, an auxiliary electrical heater can be necessary for the cold period. Polytropic provides software and selection files to help customers and installers to find the right machine for their customer s needs.
