The traditional method of drying cereal crops or maize in a continuous flow dryer is not always the optimal solution. Although it is great for large-scale production, it can only handle materials which are dry enough and is not economical for small-scale production. On the other hand, a circulating batch dryer is highly efficient for extreme moisture levels, well beyond the capacity of traditional dryers. Until now, the choice has been between these two methods. The erection of the silos may be carried out safely with the help of a crane and jacks, normally without any scaffolding. The manhole and the wall joint for the screw conveyor are separate components that offer alternatives for fitting out the silo, and make the erection and operation of the silo easier. The roof is joined with the wall jacket by means of a top rim and centring supports, which ensure a robust structure and that the silo and the roof are symmetric with respect to each other.
