Product Mission The BD 17/6 was designed and developed to be a world class, compact automatic scrubber providing superior scrubbing power, incredible water recovery, whisper quite operation and powered by sealed, maintenance - free batteries. This industry leading, compact scrubber prevents the tripping hazard and cord management issues that come with a corded electric unit. The BD 17/6 is also safe for a variety of hard floor types and noise sensitive areas. With a squeegee blade situated just one (1) inch behind the brush, the BD 17/6 recovers an incredible amount of solution, even on tight turns. The squeegee assembly will rotate 180 0 to the left or right, thus allowing pick up when the unit is pulled backwards. In addition, the unit can be fitted with a variety of either disc pads or brushes. This versatility allows the operator to meet the challenge of cleaning a majority of different hard floor types with a single unit. The BD 17/6 incorporates all of the functions of a large, walk-behind automatic scrubber in a maneuverable and compact design. Many of the distinctive features of the BD 17/6 give managers options and flexibility to use the machines for multiple cleaning applications. Squeegee Blade The integrated, parabolic squeegee system is located one (1) inch behind the disc brush. Solution is contained with the cleaning path and is instantly recovered, even around 180 degree turns. The squeegee assembly will rotate 180 0 to the left or right thus allowing pick up when the unit is pulled backwards. Brush or pad operation Comes standard with a disc brush, but an optional disc holder is available for use with disc pads. Allows the operator to clean almost any hard floor surface. This meets LEED standards and eliminates the need for the potentially hazardous maintenance of regular wet-acid batteries. Vacuum motor housing The vacuum motor is surrounded by a sound deadening case. This allows the unit to operate at 67 dba, meeting LEED noise standards. 5

Adjustable Handle Feature: The handle can be adjusted to fit the height of nearly any operator. Benefit: This makes cleaning comfortable no matter the size of the operator. Compact Storage Feature: The BD 17/6 can be compactly stored in the upright position with the handle folded. Benefit: This allows the unit to be placed in a janitors closet or in other smaller areas, making storage a breeze. Maintenance Free Batteries Feature: The unit comes standard with sealed, maintenance free AGM batteries. Benefit: This meets LEED standards and avoids the hazards of standard, wet-acid battery maintenance. Also, allows for opportunity charging, where the unit can be charged after any amount of use; even after 10 minutes. On-Board Charger Feature: An on-board battery charger is built into the unit. When you receive the unit, remove the recovery tank and ensure the batteries are connected as shown above and the battery connector is fully inserted. The handle can be adjusted by lifting up on the handle adjustment lever. The handle can also collapse to rest over the recovery tank for storage purposes. 8

Solution Tank Recovery Tank The amount of solution being used can be adjusted at the front of the unit, just above the brush deck. Tip: If water is not being dispensed, ensure the solution level control is in the open position. This is done by pulling the lever to the right. 9

The BD 17/6 is activated by pressing four buttons Main On / Off Button Brush Activation Button Vacuum Activation Button Solution Activation Button The squeegee blade is raised and lowered with the squeegee release lever on the handle. 10

Pressing Forward Pulling Backward The brush is activated by pressing forward or pulling back on the brush activation lever. The direction you pull or push the lever has no bearing on the way the brush spins. The brush will always spin in a clockwise direction. To remove the brush, simply turn it counter clockwise and pull the brush off. 11

To gain access to the squeegee blades, first rotate the squeegee so that the squeegee assembly is in front of the unit. Second, remove the 2 inner wing nuts that hold the squeegee assembly to the squeegee mounting and remove the squeegee hose. Once the squeegee assembly is released from the unit, release the catch at the end of the retainer strip and unhook it from the squeegee assembly. Drain the Recovery Tank using the drain hose or by removing it from the unit and emptying it in a floor drain or other approved area. Drain the Solution Tank by removing the Solution Tank Drain Plug over a floor drain or other approved area. 12

To charge the unit after operation, simply attach the charging chord and plug it into a standard wall outlet. The handle on the unit folds on top of the recovery tank and the unit can be set on its back for storage. 13

Specified Unit Tornado BD 17/6 Compact Automatic Scrubber, Model: 99617 Summary The specified unit shall be a 6 gallon recovery tank, 6 gallon solution tank and be powered by sealed, maintenance free, 24 V AGM batteries. The machine should have a low profile design feature to increase operator visibility when cleaning. The unit will come standard with a 17 disc brush, however, an optional 17 disc pad holder shall also be available. The recovery tank will lift off of the unit allowing for easy access to motors, hose clamps and other components for periodic preventative maintenance cycles and easy repair. The vacuum motor is encased in a sound deadening cover, decreasing the operating decibel level. The integrated handle is adjustable, allowing the unit to be comfortably operated by users of various sizes. The unit features a quick drain system for both the recovery and solution tanks. The recovery tank is easily removed from the unit, allowing it to be emptied in a slop sink. The solution tank shall feature a quick evacuation cap, allowing for simple draining into a floor drain or other approved area. To ensure a complete and thorough cleaning of various floor types, different brush options are available. Also, to allow for optimal water recovery, the squeegee assembly is situated just one (1) inch behind the brush and rotates 180 0 both left and right.
