A Blooming Home & Garden Show for Discovery Publications! By Nancy Griffin-Bonnaire A spectacularly bright and breezy day set the stage for the Third Annual Home & Garden Show by Discovery Publications at the Fauquier County Fairgrounds on April 27. Attendance was up by 20% from last year. Visitor interest was piqued by the terrific variety of vendors more than 70 businesses and non-profit organizations were onsite displaying and selling their goods, and sharing the benefits of their services. Those seeking to improve their outdoor living space saw gorgeous possibilities of hardscapes (including a colorful fountain) on display, and a variety of hanging baskets, perennials, flowering trees, shrubs, and even sod were available for purchase. Fabulous outdoor furniture and play sets beckoned to children while tractors, mowers, and other lawn equipment caught the eye of folks in need of help getting their property spruced up for spring. A host of businesses featured an amazing array of options for your home s interior as well, from windows and doors to heating, air conditioning, and plumbing, and new drapes and furniture. Artisans displaying paintings, matted photographs, jewelry, handmade pottery, handcrafted tiki poles, skin care products, and more were also on hand, not to mention the tempting treats from local vendors. Live music throughout the day added to the festivities. Vendors were delighted to see longtime customers and meet new ones, and visitors were thrilled to learn about businesses. Visitors to the Fauquier Community Theatre display eagerly picked up the schedule for 2013-2014 shows (don t miss Aladdin Jr. next month!). And following the event, quite a few guests were delighted to learn that they had won some fabulous giveaways! Plans for the 4 th Annual Home & Garden Show by Discovery Publications are underway four new vendors are already signed up for the event. Mark your calendars for April 26, 2014, and stay tuned for further details!
