1 Executive Summary The present deliverable describes the dissemination and communication infrastructure and material as set in D9.1 Dissemination and Communication Plan under section 5: Dissemination and Communication Tactics. The different sections of this document present all dissemination tools of the project, including also the project logo, presentation, project leaflets, Media Coverage & Press Releases, poster, etc. Dissemination and communication material is being constantly updated to secure the most effective outreach and to meet the needs and requirements of the project according to its different phases: (1) Pre-Pilot (M1 M12); (2) Pilot (M13 M33); (3) Post-Pilot (M34 M36) - articulated around a mix of media communication and coverage, social media (i.e. Event Blog, Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn), video reporting (EURACTIV Online video channel, YouTube and Dailymotion) and more traditional material and channels such as a logo, presentation, brochure and workshops. Page 8 of 25

2 Introduction The present report describes the dissemination and communication infrastructure and material developed to support the different dissemination activities, as set in D9.1 Dissemination and Communication Plan. Page 9 of 25

3 Visuals and Branding It is essential to develop a strong brand identity for projects, if we expect them to be widely, effective and efficiently disseminated and recognizable. Therefore, the EU Community consortium together with the dissemination team, developed early on a strong brand identity around a distinct logo and the same coloristic characterization, which has been defined in EU Community project s Visual Identity Style Guide, as well as common feel and look. Figure 1: EU Community Visual Identity Style Guide Page 10 of 25

3.1 Logo Figure 2: Logo of EU Community The EU Community logo has been designed in the very early stages of the project with the aim of presenting the Project s concept and vision to external stakeholders. Smart, simple and intuitive design that includes the project acronym. Provides an easily recognised project trademark to be used in all dissemination material and activities and contribute to awareness and promotion. The project logo is included in the EU Community Dissemination Kit that is regularly adapted in accordance with the changing requirements of events, target groups and communication channels. Page 11 of 25

3.2 Presentation Figure 3: EU Community PPT Presentation The EU Community PowerPoint presentation prepared in English included information about the Project, its aims and objectives as well as contact information for inquiries. The presentation is a constantly evolving document including both external stakeholders feedbacks and reflecting on the different stages of the project. Page 12 of 25

4 Website and Social Media 4.1 Project Website The centrepiece of the dissemination and communication strategy is the EU Community project website. The website acts as an information exchange platform and main dissemination tool for results presentation, EU Community related events, the presentation of key concepts at the heart of the project. The site also acts as a relay to the Global System Science cluster of projects. The site s overall design reflects EC and FP7 branding, based as well on the Visual Identity developed for the project. The Visual Identity allows graphical and layout adaptation enabling the GSS project to have a distinct visual identity within the family of the GSS cluster. Figure 4 : EU Community website - http://project.eucommunity.eu Page 13 of 25

The EU Community social media package composed of 1 Facebook page, 1 Twitter account, 1 LinkedIn group and a blog have been designed in line with the project branding. The EU Community blog and the social media tools have also been integrated in the overall project website. 4.2 Facebook Page EU Community has created 1 Facebook page [currently 226 fans mostly individuals] to disseminate information and to mobilize a wide range of relevant stakeholders, as defined in the Dissemination and Communication plan. The Facebook page contains information pertaining to the project including summary content and connections to the project website. It allows for partners to connect with relevant stakeholders that do not visit the website or haven t received dissemination material yet. It is also an excellent tool for engaging stakeholders for EU Community events and workshops. Figure 5: Facebook page of EU Community - http://www.facebook.com/eucommunity 4.3 Twitter Account EU Community has created 1 Twitter account [currently 92 followers mostly organisations and media] that is regularly updating followers about key developments in the project. It also contains relevant information about new results of the project and ways to get involved. Partners can connect with Page 14 of 25

stakeholders on a regular basis and update them with small, useful pieces of information rather than larger news items. Both Twitter and Facebook page are connected to diffuse EU Community news and key messages to the wider audience of related stakeholders. Figure 6: Twitter account of EU Community - http://twitter.com/eu_community 4.4 LinkedIn Group An EU Community LinkedIn group (currently 65 members) has been created to link with EU Policy Stakeholders that are well represented on this professional web 2.0 channel. Figure 7: LinkedIn account of EU Community - http://www.linkedin.com/groups?mostrecent=&gid=7452656&trk=my_groups-tile-flipgrp 4.5 EU Community Blog A dedicated EU Community blog has been created on BlogActiv.eu (the premier EU affairs bloggers platform). This blog has also being integrated through a synchronised RSS feed to the project website to generate more exposure to the relevant audiences. Page 16 of 25

Figure 9 : EU Community Blog on BlogActiv.eu - http://eucommunity.blogactiv.eu/ 4.6 Promotional Videos EU Community will produce several videos during the project life-cycle. The videos are presenting the project and its achievements in an eye-catching visualisation, while also capturing the workshops that are organised for dissemination purposes. EU Community promotional video includes a useful mix of EU Policy Stakeholders and decision-makers interviews and an attractively edited presentation of the EU Community. Produced via EurActiv Online Video Channel 1, one of the leading online video channels focused on EU policies and affairs, videos are disseminated over the EurActiv and consortium partners channels, as well as YouTube. 1 http://www.euractiv.com/video/all Page 18 of 25

Figure 10: EU Community promotional video on YouTube 2 5 Printed Material EU Community has developed two types of printed material (brochure): For dissemination use: project objectives, progress and achievements; For exploitation use: EU Community benefits, tools and relevant contacts. Both brochures are consistent with the project logo and branding, while being regularly updated following the different phases of the project and the continuously changing dissemination requirements during the project life-cycle. The Exploitation Brochure will be developed before entering into the post-pilot phase (M34). The project brochure is included in the EU Community Dissemination Kit. In addition, EU Community has produced a project poster (pop-up banner stand) to be used at events, workshops and other outreach opportunities. EU Community project poster is eye-catching with minimum text and large font to deliver the most important project information and direct the viewer to detailed information such as the project website. 2 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=74vlhe-ep0k&feature=youtu.be Page 19 of 25

6 Media Partnerships and Press Releases Since the start of the project, the EU Community consortium has already published several press releases to inform stakeholders about the developments in the project, EU Community events and workshops, and tools resulting from the project. Media partnerships are offered to major events and conferences, where EU Community is showcased via a presentation, a workshop panel or an exhibit booth in exchange for visibility and joint promotion. The aim of this tactic is to gain increased visibility for the project in exchange for media promotion of the event or conference. This offer in turn increased visibility of targeted conferences or events. Media Partnerships include the following elements: Table 2: Media Partnership with EurActiv Action Due Assumption 1.1 Promotion: 1 post on EurActiv Agenda.
