IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS. READ AND FOLLOW ALL INSTRUCTIONS. INSTRUCTIONS PERTAINING TO RISK OF FIRE, ELECTRIC SHOCK, OR INJURY TO PERSONS. SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS. WARNING: Risk of Injury or Electric Shock. When using this unit, always follow basic precautions, including the following: The unit must be connected only to a circuit that is protected by a Ground-Fault Circuit-Interrupter (GFCI). Such a GFCI should be provided by the installer and should be tested on a routine basis. To test the GFCI, press the test button. The GFCI should interrupt power. Press the reset button. Power should be restored. If the GFCI fails to operate in this manner, the GFCI is defective. If the GFCI interrupts power to the bath without the test button being pushed, a ground current is flowing, indicating the possibility of an electric shock. DO NOT use this hydro-massage bath. Disconnect the hydro-massage bath and have the problem corrected by a qualified service representative before using. To reduce the risk of electric shock, connect only to a properly grounded, grounding type receptacle, protected by a Ground-Fault Circuit-Interrupter (GFCI). Do not remove the plug s ground pin. Do not use a grounding adapter. A pressure wire connector is provided on the exterior of the pump or control within this unit to permit connection of a bonding conductor between this unit and all other exposed metal in the vicinity, as needed to comply with local requirements. IMPORTANT! Flush your BodySpa system twice a month or more depending upon usage, as described on Page 8. DO NOT operate this unit without the guard on the suction fitting. Never drop or insert any object into any opening. Use this unit only for its intended use as indicated in this manual. DO NOT use attachments not recommended by the Kohler Co. DANGER: Risk of Injury. Hot whirlpool baths can put certain stresses on the body, as does any hot bath, shower, sauna, or steam bath. Prolonged immersions in hot water may induce hyperthermia. Symptoms of hyperthermia include an increase in the internal body temperature, dizziness, lethargy, drowsiness, and fainting. The effects of hyperthermia include (1) failure to perceive heat, (2) failure to recognize the need to exit the bath, (3) unawareness of impending hazard, (4) fetal damage in pregnant women, (5) physical inability to exit the bath, and (6) unconsciousness resulting in the danger of drowning. Warning The use of alcohol, drugs, or other medication can greatly increase the risk of fatal hyperthermia. Keep small objects such as bath toys and bathing accessories out of the BodySpa while the pump is operating. NOTE: The BodySpa action can cause even a small amount of bubble bath, bath soap, shampoo, or bath oil to foam excessively. For this reason, refrain from using these products during the whirlpool cycle. Repeated use of personal care products containing oils can damage plastic whirlpool components. Do not use heavy, vegetable-based shampoos or bath oils. Water temperature in the BodySpa should not exceed 104 F (40 C). Your new Kohler BodySpa has been listed by Underwriter s Laboratories, thus ensuring safety for you and your family. Your new BodySpa also conforms to rigid ANSI and IAPMO standards set within the plumbing industry. DANGER: Risk of injury. To reduce the risk of injury, do not permit children to use this unit unless they are closely supervised at all times. 114176-5-AB 2

2. HOW YOUR BODYSPA PERSONAL HYDRO-MASSAGE SYSTEM WORKS A. YOUR BODYSPA SYSTEM Your BodySpa is designed to give you a complete body hydro-massage for an invigorating experience. The BodySpa gives you complete freedom of movement (and choice) to concentrate your hydro-massage on specific areas of your body. An adjustable seat can be used or moved back out of your way with ease. An easy-to-read keypad is mounted inside the enclosure for quick access. With it, you can individualize each BodySpa experience by selecting the overhead Waterfall feature or any combination of five pairs of Body Jets. You can vary the intensity of your BodySpa hydro-massage from gentle to vigorous with the touch of a finger. B. BODYSPA BASICS Your BodySpa needs less than 40 gallons of water to operate because it recirculates the tempered water you put in the bath basin. The BodySpa recirculates water from the foot bath basin, through the pump and heater, out the Body Jets, and back into the foot bath basin. This cycle continues as long as your BodySpa is running. After reading this manual, contact your Kohler dealer if you have any questions. TOWER WITH BODY JETS WATERFALL KEYPAD ADJUSTABLE SEAT PUMP AND HEATER SUCTION COVER FOOT BATH BASIN 114176-5-AB 4

3. SPECIAL BODYSPA PERSONAL HYDRO-MASSAGE SYSTEM FEATURES A. THE FOOT BATH The foot bath acts as a reservoir for the BodySpa water you add. Less than 40 gallons of tempered water are needed to operate your BodySpa. Your BodySpa foot bath is made of durable acrylic. The bottom surface of the foot bath is covered with an effective slip-resistant surface. This feature allows you to safely move in and out of the water flow as you change your position. B. THE TOWER The tower contains five pairs of Body Jets and a lighted, overhead Waterfall. You can choose to run the Waterfall alone, or you can select any pairs or combination of Body Jets to personalize your hydro-massage experience. You can select one Body Jet array, several, or all five at once. They will come on at low speed. If you turn off all five Body Jet arrays, the Waterfall feature will automatically turn back on at low speed. The Waterfall light will stay on as long as the BodySpa is running. You can adjust the intensity of your hydro-massage. The sides of the tower are gently ribbed with grip-providing grooves to offer a place for you to grasp during your hydro-massage. C. THE WATERFALL The lighted Waterfall calms and soothes with sheets of drenching water to enhance your hydro-massage experience. The Waterfall comes on automatically when you turn on your BodySpa and when you turn off all the Body Jets. WARNING: Risk of personal injury. Do not set objects on the Waterfall ledge. D. THE BODY JETS There are ten Body Jets positioned vertically on your BodySpa tower to provide you with full body hydro-massage effects. The Body Jets are grouped in horizontal pairs. You can select any combination of pairs. When you select the Body Jets function on your keypad, the middle three pairs of Body Jets will begin to run at their lowest setting. If you want, you can then select one Body Jet array, several, or all five at once. They will come on at low speed. If you turn off all five Body Jet arrays, the Waterfall feature will automatically turn back on. 5 114176-5-AB

SPECIAL BODYSPA FEATURES CONTINUED E. THE ADJUSTABLE SEAT An adjustable seat is mounted to the foot bath ledge. Pressing a lever located underneath the seat allows you to move the seat back and out of your way when you choose to stand, or outward when you decide to sit. WARNING: Risk of personal injury. Do not attempt to stand on the adjustable seat. F. THE KEYPAD The easy-to-read keypad allows you to individualize each BodySpa bathing experience to suit your personal needs. You use fingertip control to select the Waterfall setting or any combination of Body Jet arrays. You can adjust the intensity of your hydro-massage from gentle to vigorous. G. THE PUMP AND HEATER The pump and heater combine to propel and maintain the temperature of the water in your BodySpa foot bath.* Your BodySpa heater is located inside the pump housing, and is designed to automatically maintain the BodySpa water temperature at a comfortable level. * Maintains the temperature if installed as recommended. 4. OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS A. GETTING READY TO USE YOUR BODYSPA Please read and follow these steps carefully so you can safely enjoy the benefits of BodySpa hydro-massage bathing. Remove your eyeglasses, contact lenses, and loose jewelry before entering the BodySpa. Shower before using your BodySpa if you desire. Do not use shampoo, soap, or bubble bath in the BodySpa bath water. Shampoo and soap may be used for showering before filling the foot bath basin. Rinse down the enclosure and foot bath to remove soap residue and debris. Remove all loose bathing items such as soap bars, shampoo bottles, and washcloths from the BodySpa enclosure. Be sure to check that nothing is resting on the Waterfall ledge. Close the drain, and fill the foot bath basin with tempered water to a level at least 2 above the suction cover. 5. CARE AND CLEANING INSTRUCTIONS A. CLEANING YOUR ACRYLIC BODYSPA FOOT BATH One of the joys of owning a Kohler acrylic BodySpa is the ease of cleaning. There are no seams or tight corners for lime or mildew build-up. As with any smooth surface, avoid using abrasive cleansers on your acrylic BodySpa bath. Abrasive cleansers will scratch and dull the surface. It also helps if you wipe out your BodySpa bath after each use to prevent a build-up of soap and mineral deposits. If the surface gets excessively dirty you can use a general purpose cleaner such as: Cinch, Glass Plus, 409 All Purpose, Dow Soap Scum and Mildew Remover, Scrub Free Mildew Remover, Mr. Clean Lemon Fresh, or Fantastik. If the surface of your acrylic BodySpa bath becomes dull, you may use an automotive-type rubbing compound on the unit, followed by a good application of paste wax. NOTICE: Risk of product damage. Avoid products containing the following chemicals, as they will damage the finish: acetone, ethyl alcohol, amyl or ethyl acetate, sodium hypochlorite, toluene, phenol. Extreme heat, such as that generated by cigarettes or portable heaters, can damage bath surfaces; do not use such items near your bath. C. FLUSHING YOUR BODYSPA SYSTEM Flush your BodySpa system twice a month or more, depending upon usage. Use the following sequence: Fill the bath with hot water to a level 2 above the suction cover; Add 2 teaspoons of a low-foaming dishwasher detergent, and 4 ounces of household bleach to the water; Run the BodySpa for 5 to 10 minutes in the waterfall mode; then another 5 to 10 minutes with all ten body jets running at the same time. Then shut off the BodySpa, and drain the water; Fill the bath with cold water to a level 2 above the suction cover, and run the BodySpa for another 5 to 10 minutes in both the waterfall and ten-jet modes. Drain the bath, and wipe it dry with a soft cloth. E. CLEANING YOUR BODYSPA SEAT B. CLEANING YOUR BODYSPA TOWER Clean your BodySpa Tower with a mild soap and warm water. Wipe the entire surface completely dry with a clean, soft cloth. Many cleaners contain harsh chemicals, such as ammonia, which could adversely affect the finish and are not recommended for cleaning. Do not use abrasive cleansers or solvents on your Kohler BodySpa Tower. D. CLEANING YOUR BODYSPA DOOR ENCLOSURE Your Kohler BodySpa Door Enclosure will remain beautiful if you take care of it. We recommend you replace seals when they show signs of wear, yellowing, or leakage. For replacement parts, please contact the dealer where you purchased the door enclosure. Water conditions in various parts of the country will determine any extra cleaning attention you may need to give your new door enclosure. A simple routine of daily care will keep your door enclosure looking like new. Kohler Co. does not recommend the use of harsh abrasive cleansers on any of its products. Harsh cleansers will damage the metal and glass finish on your door enclosure. Apply a glass cleaner with a clean sponge and immediately rinse off the area. Clean your BodySpa seat twice a month or more, depending upon usage. The seat may be cleaned using a soft cloth and warm water. Stubborn dirt or stains may require a non-abrasive cleanser. Do not use abrasive cleansers or solvents on the BodySpa seat. 114176-5-AB 8
