IMMEDIATE PAST PRESIDENT Bryce Jacob, CR, UDCP Dave Fox Design Build Remodelers EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR Shari Bates, CAE Hooray for NARIWOOD!! Wow, what an evening. I cannot begin to express my appreciation to Pam LaMonica, Regina Readd, Derek Benseler, Landa Brunetto, Peter Robinson, MCR, CKBR, Angela Bonfante, Shari Bates, and Anita Riehl. Just when I thought it couldn t get any better, it did. We were privileged to have Michael Hydeck, MCR, CKBR, President of NARI National as our guest. His words were, and I quote Wow; I ve been to a lot of events but none compare to this! When planning for next year s budgets and time off; plan to treat yourselves and your staff to an evening of excellence at our 2012 year end banquet. Congratulations to everyone in attendance and to everyone recognized that evening. Job well done! I also want to thank Ferguson Enterprises for hosting our November general meeting. We introduced our 2012 Board, we had a great networking night, and learned of upcoming kitchen trends such as the steam oven from Bob Sterneker of B/S/H/. Ferguson was a great host and has a professional staff and showroom that your clients will enjoy. Before looking ahead to next year I d like to share some of our highlights from this year. Together; as NARI, we have accomplished a lot this year. Membership: We have 52 new members this year. That s our largest growth in 20 years. You did great! Thank you! We had 86% retention with our members and had over 20 first time attendees at one general meeting alone. And talk about general meetings; they are great. We have gracious hosts, great networking, and a lot of fun. I ve never been with a group that consistently has such positive energy and are great people. Community Service Projects: The Wheeler Project - in memory of Paul Wheeler, we helped Nancy Wheeler finish their remodel in January. Boo at the Zoo - We had our first joint venture with the zoo; and look forward to literally building on this relationship. The Buckeye Ranch - we have looked at several projects with the ranch, we are working with them on Argo Hall this month. NARI Branding: We had our radio campaign with the BBB earlier in the year. We have our NARI Today magazine with a lot of articles written by our members. We got a lot of publicity with our Not So Scary NARI house with Sunny 95 at the Columbus Zoo. Sponsorships: We have our media sponsor; The Columbus Dispatch. They have helped our members to better brand their companies and have helped to make NARI Today possible. Five months ago we were able to announce our newest corporate sponsor: Huntington. I m very excited about our relationship and look forward to working with them next year as well. I can t begin to thank you enough for all your hard work and for making NARI the great organization that it is. I hope all of you have a Great Holiday Season with your family and friends and a very prosperous 2012. Todd Schmidt, CR, UDCP Renovations Unlimited President, NARI of Central Ohio 614-594-0004 tschmidt1@choiceonemail.com

Page 7 STUDY REVEALS WIDE RANGING DATA ABOUT NARI MEMBERS A recent study by the Home Improvement Research Institute (HIRI) compared various metrics of business productivity and success of NARI members versus non-nari remodeling companies. NARI members far exceeded non-nari members in several important areas. NARI members tend to manage larger businesses, having on average 2.5 times as many employees than non-nari businesses. NARI member company employees were also found to be twice as productive when measured by average sales per employee. In sales and productivity, NARI members generated over four times more sales by average dollar volume annually. The HIRI study also revealed some general information about NARI members. 95% of the respondents were individually owned companies. 79% of the respondents were general contractors. 99% reported doing business remodeling or repairing existing homes while just 37% reported working on commercial buildings. NARI appears to attract those who want to be the best in their industry! Click here to see the results of the entire survey. The best source of trusted professionals in remodeling.
