Entrants do not have to be a garden club member. Anyone may enter. 1. Before entering, refer to General Information. 2. ENTERING: Pre-enter in DEPARTMENT ONLY. Itemized entry sheet PER will be available on entry days in Building 1. Pick up exhibitor number ONE WEEK BEFORE ENTRY DAY at the fair office. You will need your exhibitor number at the time of entering. Exhibits to arrive on the grounds between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. Sun., 8/23, and Mon., 8/24. Entry pick up: Exhibits will be released between 8 and 10 a.m. Sun., 8/30. Entries not picked up at set time will be discarded and names and ribbons will be left for you to pick up during regular office hours. 3. All exhibits must be labeled properly with correct Division Letter, Class Number and Variety. 4. Exhibits brought with insects, diseases or fungus will not be accepted or judged. 5. All specimen flowers must have been grown by the exhibitor. Flowers used in designs may be fresh or dried depending on class, and need not be grown by the exhibitor. 6. Potted plants must have been in the exhibitor s possession at least three months and must have a bottom that holds water. 7. Exhibitors must supply own containers, vases, water bottles, etc. They must be the appropriate size for your entry. Example: if your cut flowers are top heavy & tip the vase over, you need a bigger vase. Be creative, use something unique. 8. Specimens must have foliage except where otherwise designated. Foliage below the water line on each specimen must be removed. 9. A spray must have true leaves and 3-5 blooms. 10. Hybrid teas must be disbudded. 11. When a specimen requires more than one bloom, all must be the same size.
12. Judging will be done according to the Danish system, each judged on its own merit. 13. Exhibits are to remain in place until between 8 and 10 a.m. Sun., 8/30. Exhibitors are responsible to pick up exhibits at that time. 14. Exhibitors are encouraged to replace any wilted blooms during the Fair. Most flowers cannot last several days in the August heat; please help us keep the show looking nice. WHEELBARROW PROJECT Must be a standard size wheelbarrow (painted/decorated), any flowers may be planted. Educational posterboard/progress must accompany with display.
