AquaFlo II Zip AquaFlo II is a range of direct and indirect stainless steel cylinders designed to provide mains pressure hot water for powerful showers and fast filling baths. Quick recovery times and high performance insulation ensure that hot water is always available and delivered as economically as possible. Manufactured in the UK from high grade duplex stainless steel, Zip AquaFlo II utilises high quality controls for high flow rates and reliability. Solar compatible options enable Zip AquaFlo II to be integrated into the latest renewable technology water heating systems. Zip AquaFlo II provides: A full range of capacities from 90 to 300 litres for both direct and indirect applications Coil-in-coil heat exchangers ensure quick recovery and maximum effective capacity (up to 96% of the nominal capacity) High performance insulation and fast recovery times translate into high efficiency and big savings in energy External expansion ensuring: More effective use of the cylinder volume More usable space around the unit Reduced maintenance and greater reliability with no air bubble to lose Easier installation from: A slim profile and footprint with a diameter of 545mm The use of standard compression fittings throughout Minimal maintenance required due to: External expansion No sacrificial anode High quality construction, materials and electrical components for longevity and complete peace of mind. If siting outside the heated envelope of the building such as in a garage or outbuilding then frost protection should be provided and exposed pipework should be insulated. Zip AquaFlo must be supported on a flat base capable of supporting the weight of the cylinder when full. The minimum recommended cupboard size is 650mm square. It s important that consideration is given to access for maintenance of the valves. The immersion heaters are 375mm long and access space should be provided for their possible future replacement. Water Supply AquaFlo is capable of delivering over 50 litres per minute when connected to a suitable mains supply. The high quality inlet control set with a 3 bar operating pressure has been designed to make the most of what is available, however the performance of any unvented system is only as good as the water supply. In unvented systems both hot and cold services are supplied simultaneously from the mains so the maximum possible on-site water demand must be assessed and the water supply should be tested to ensure it can meet these requirements. Consult the local water supplier if necessary regarding the likely pressure and flow rate availability. Plumbing For connection to 22mm mains potable water supply Minimum water supply 1.5 bar, 20 l/min Maximum water supply pressure 12 bar Electrical To be wired to a suitably rated double pole fused spur Installation must comply with current IEE regulations Connecting Zip AquaFlo Units in Parallel Multiple Zip AquaFlo units can be connected in parallel for applications where higher storage capacity is required. To connect in parallel, each Zip AquaFlo should be provided with a separate cold supply while the hot outlets are connected to a common pipeline. Secondary Return All Zip AquaFlo units are suitable for use with secondary return systems. A dedicated secondary return connection is provided on AquaFlos with a capacity of 210 litres and above. On smaller sizes the secondary return can be connected to the incoming supply. Always check that the kw loading available on direct units is sufficient to recover the heat loss in the secondary circuit in addition to any hot water drawn off. Installation Installation must be undertaken by a competent installer in accordance with all national and local Building Regulations. Zip AquaFlo is intended for floor standing only refer to Technical Data on page 6 for weights when full. 4
