Central Idea # 1051 Ada Street Community Hub A public space for all neighbours to gather. Improvements to the Thompson Road Park at Ada Street. Total Cost = $40,000 Park Improvements - $40,000 This will create a natural space where people will be able to meet, exchange ideas, have fun together, and create more of a sense of community. We need a space where our local artists can have events where they can meet each other and present their work to the community. Thompson Road Park

Central Idea # 1050 Additional Playground Equipment in Vauxhall Park Install additional playground equipment in Vauxhall Park. The new equipment could include a slide, a swing set, and more climbing equipment. Central Idea # 1053 Age Friendly Parks More Seating Four benches would be installed in both St. Julien s Park and Gibbons Park for a total of eight benches. Total Cost = $20,000 8 Benches - $20,000 Our group wants to encourage older adults to be physically and socially active in our parks and neighbourhoods. Central Idea # 4927 Basketball Pad in Murray Park Replacing the tennis court with a new basketball court. Total Cost = $35,000 Replace tennis court surface for basketball court - $35,000 The tennis court in Murray Park is not used very often. There are a lot of kids who use it for ball hockey but the tennis net is always in the way. There are many children in our neighbourhood who play basketball right on the street. It is very unsafe. There is a beautiful park that is very well used. The only thing that would help us to make it even better is a basketball pad. Central Idea # 4882 Beautification of CNRA Park Beautify CNRA Park by adding two benches and a gazebo. Total Cost = $40,000 2 benches - $4,000; Gazebo - $36,000 Improvements will help support the growing number of young families in the neighbourhood who want a good quality park to take their children to. There is not much green space in this particular area of the city, so the green spaces we do have should be treasured and maintained properly for the families that want to use them on a regular basis. The park area, the public and all the people that live in the neighbourhood would realize the great value with the garden, the plants, the space and the extra work they do for the environment. The garden will be a visual pleasure adding beauty and will also to be used as an educational feature. Exact location of benches will be determined through consultation with local businesses, Old South Business Association, and the Old South Community Organization. They will make the area look and feel more historic and give people a place to sit and take a break as they walk along the road. Central Idea # 4809 Benches in Old East Village Install five benches on existing Canada Post concrete pads on boulevards in Old East Village. Total Cost = $6,000 5 Benches - 5,500.00; Installation - $500.00 More people will walk to shop, walk in general and then stop and sit and get to know one another. Great for those with mobility issues. OEV does not have parkland with benches and this is a good substitute. The existing concrete pads are the perfect spots for neighborhood benches. Central Idea # 1154 Downtown Scavenger Hunt Host a scavenger hunt across Downtown, with a passport stamped when clues are found. When the passport is completed, it can be traded for prizes such as discount for downtown stores, or downtown dollars. Businesses in the area would support the Scavenger Hunt, handing clues out at each location. Total Cost = $2,500 Event Costs - $2,500 People can move around and learn about downtown. This event gets people motivated to do so, which is part of a healthy community. Central Idea # 1128 Here Before Us: Oxford Park Neighbourhood Cultural Heritage Evaluation Report (CHER) A CHER will assess the heritage of the Oxford Park neighbourhood. Researched and written by experts in archaeology and cultural heritage, this document will provide a reliable, accurate, and credible resource for both Oxford Park residents and Londoners. Total Cost = $14,260 CHER - $12,000; 100 Heritage home signs - $2,260 This research assessment will give Oxford Park neighbours a connection through a shared appreciation for the history behind our homes and neighbourhood. The CHER will uncover important historical information to us, such as which homes are Kernohan pre-fabricated houses (a multigenerational London family and business), the names of all WWII veterans who lived here, etc. Neighbours will demonstrate their community spirit collectively by posting an Oxford Park-specific heritage sign signifying the original homeowners information. Organized by the same people who run the Hidden History of Hamilton Road series. Central Idea # 4944 Inclusive Play Structure in Meredith Park Installation of surfacing material that would be accessible and safe for all who use the site. Accessible equipment could include: a chinning bar that could be reached by a child in a wheelchair; a spinner/merrygo-round; roller table; low to the ground tunnels; bridges and towers; and ramps to reach them. Total Cost = $50,000 New Play Equipment and Safety Surfacing Installation - $50,000 Our hope is to build a new play structure that would be accessible to all children and that would provide a complete and enriching play experience for every child who uses the park. It is our hope that children and parents from all over London would visit such a play structure and that it would become the first step in an upgrade to Meredith Park that would make it a destination in itself and a true neighbourhood hub for SoHo. The Little Libraries will be constructed by a group of residents in the Hamilton Road community, who are working with Crouch Neighbourhood Resource Centre and Pathways Skills Development, as part of a wood working program. Total Cost = $1,900 Materials - $1,600; Invitations through Canada Post - $300 This idea will increase the presence of Little Libraries and thus maximize the benefits for residents living in this geographic area. Central Idea # 4933 London West Lions Park Gazebo and Gathering Area Installation of a gazebo, picnic tables and a path alongside the Food Forest in West Lions Park. A gazebo and picnic tables or benches would create a caring space alongside the Food Forest, for sitting together, meetings, picnics, resting, family outings, and compassionate community connection. Total Cost = $50,000 Gazebo and Path - $44,000; Picnic Tables - $6,000 This Food Forest has become a space for Londoners to learn about the concept of a food forest. This green space has naturally evolved into an important community meeting/participation space, and a compassionate destination that encourages inclusive participation, diversity, and enhancement of green space for all Londoners, including vulnerable populations. Central Idea # 4921 OId East Village Community Association Block Party Each year, the Old East Village Community Association hosts a family friendly, inclusive, accessible and FUN block party, open to the neighbourhood and the London community. We bring together the community--from artisans and musicians, to service agencies, to the incredible businesses that have set up shop in Old East Village. Total Cost = $1,500 Food - $1,500 This one-day annual celebration fosters connections between neighbours and their community, whether it s volunteers who barbecue all afternoon, or a community member who is able to learn more about a service or agency at one of the many info tables. These community connections stretch across the lifespan, since this is an event open to all ages, with thought given to accessible locations. Central Idea # 4922 Reimagine Waste Reimagine Waste is a pop-up community space that will be open for three months. It will be a demonstration space for the growing zero waste movement in London, featuring a range of activities that share information and spark conversations about living more sustainably, including workshops, demonstrations and film screenings. Beyond promoting the zero waste movement, the space will be open to select community groups who share our vision of sustainable living and city-building. Central Idea # 4898 Safety Mirror on Path in Chelsea Green Park Installation of a safety mirror on the pathway under the bridge of to assist pedestrians and cyclists to see oncoming traffic. Total Cost = $1,000 Mirror on Park Pathway - $1,000 Installing this mirror will improve safety and comfort for people using the bike and pedestrian path. This section of the path takes a sharp turn underneath the bridge. Path users cannot see who is coming around the corner, what lane they are in, or if there are any obstacles in their lane (geese, tree branches, etc.). People could pick up the scavenger hunt map on-line or at a number of participating businesses and organizations along Hamilton Road. Central Idea # 4935 Walking Path in Gibbons Park Creation of a walkway by connection existing pathway system Total Cost = $40,000 300m Pathway - $40,000 There are a large number of older adults living near Gibbons Park. Adding walking paths will make Gibbons Park better connected to the existing pathway system and will encourage walking among people of all ages and abilities. This will help make our parks & pathways more age friendly and will support older adults to be active. Gibbons Park

Central Idea # 4895 Warrior Womyn Mural Project Indigenous-themed murals in neighbourhoods with high indigenous populations. The details of the artists, artwork, and site would be decided in close consultation with local Indigenous groups. Total Cost = $50,000 Paint, equipment, insurance, artist fees - $50,000 These murals will create a positive outlook on Indigenous culture, and beautify the neighbourhood.
