Clothing and Linens Next to Your Cart Place next to your recycling cart on collection day, in secured plastic bags labeled textiles. Donate all clothing and textiles even ripped and stained to Goodwill, Value Village, and other partners through the Threadcycle program. More information at kingcounty.gov/threadcycle. Confidential Papers Find free community shred events on the Attorney General s website at atg.wa.gov/community-shred-events. Shredding is also available for a charge from private shredding services. Cooking Oil Recycle used cooking oil at the North Kirkland Community Center in a tank at the north end of the parking lot. Prescription Medication Anonymously dispose of prescription drugs at the Kirkland Justice Center during office hours. Scrap Metal (Oversize) Oversized scrap metal that won t fit in your recycling cart can be recycled at the Shoreline Transfer Station. Need help? Toxic Aerosol Cans Propane Tanks Antifreeze Motor Oil Recycle Used Oil Next to Your Cart Place in transparent 1-gallon jugs with screw on lids. Label with name and address. Place next to carts. Limit 3 gallons a week. Paint Thinner Oil-based Paint and Stain Latex paint is not considered hazardous. It should be dried out and thrown away: oatmeal consistency. 2. Let sit at least an hour to dry. 3. Throw the dried paint in the trash with the lid off. Compact Fluorescent Light Bulbs (CFLs) and Fluorescent Tubes Recycle CFLs on Your Cart Bag from Waste Management at 1-800-592-9995. The bag will be mailed to you. Place the sealed bag on your recycling cart on your collection day. More Recycle up to ten CFL bulbs a day at City Hall, Bartell s stores and Ace Hardware. COLLECTION GUIDELINES Weather Delays If weather conditions delay collection, Waste Management will collect up to twice as much garbage, recycling and yard waste on your next regular collection day at no extra charge. No credits will be issued for collection delays due to weather. Visit www.wmnorthwest.com/weatherboard for up-to-date weather delay information. Holiday Schedule Collection service is provided on all holidays except Thanksgiving, Christmas Day and New Year s Day. If your collection day falls on or one day after these holidays, your scheduled collection will be delayed one day that week. For example, if your regular collection day is Friday, holiday collection will take place on Saturday.
