Reaction Distillation Unit The Unit has been designed to suit the customers requirement of combination of versatile reaction/distillation or combination for pilot plant work. This has a flexibility of working at atmospheric pressure as well as under vacuum. Typical unit has a reaction vessel fitted in a Metal Heating/Cooling bath having facility for heating and cooling both by means of Heating/Cooling Fluids as a media. The Standard system is equipped with stirrer having mechanical seal,a packed column on the side neck of the vessel, reflux divider, coil type condenser and or receiver system having a product, cooler, vent, drain and vacuum valves, Options of or speed variator by machanical variator or electronic variator can be provide. Receiver System is equipped with Product Cooler, Vent / Vacuum Valve and Drain Valve. The above units are available in 10 Ltr.//50 Ltr./100 Ltr./200 Ltr. Capacity with Spherical Reactor and up to 500 Ltr. capacity with Cylindrical Reactor. Bromine Recovery Plant Bromine being a highly reactive material, finds wide applications in many Chemical Industries like, Organic Intermediates, Dyestuffs, Agrochemical, Fire retardants etc. Bromine can be recovered from Ž Industrial Bromides (NaBr, KBr, HBr.) Ž Bittern Aqueous Bromide solution is reacted with chlorine vapour in reaction column. The Chlorine liberates elemental bromine from the dissolved bromide. This is stripped out by live steam feed from the bottom of column. Crude bromine is then distilled to get Bromine purity of minimum 99.5%. The solution is not always so simple though, as feeds are often containmated with organic material from process. These organic impurities have to be removed by pre-treatment before feeding to the plant. Typical plant consists of stripping column, Heat Exchangers Phase Separator, Purification Column collection pot, Reboiler, Scrubber with associated Glass Piping and Fittings. All wefted components are made from Borosilicate glass and PTFE which are corrosion resistant even at elevated temperature. SCRIBBER STRPPING STEAM CONDENSOR CRUDE BROMINE CHLORNE GAS TO EFFLUENT PLANT CLEAR ACIDIC TREATED FEED LIQUOR CONDENSOR REBOILER CONDENSOR PURE BROMINE PURFICATION PURE BROMINE Sulphuric Acid Dilution Unit : The dilution chamber illustrated in figure has the capability of diluting acid of any concentration to produce sulfuric acid of any desired concentration. The system consist of Dilution Chamber, Heat Exchanger, Receiver & Circulation of dilute acid Pump (Optional) with associated Glass Pipelines, Valves & Fittings. Dilution Chambers is used for diluting concentrated Sulphuric acid to the desired concentration and the Heat Exchanger is used for bringing down the temperature of dilute acid to desired temperature (When the concentrated acid mixed with water, large amounts of heat are released. ) The Heat Exchanger is either of Shell and Tube type or Coil Type. Gas Absorber - Adiabatic Type Hydrogen Chloride is very soluble in water but it's absorption is complicated by the high heat of solution and the high partial pressure over warm concentrated solutions. In practice, the basic problem in making concentrated solutions is one of efficient heat removal. In this type of absorber, the heat of absorption is removed by evaporation of water and acid in the column. The vapour being condensed is diluted with 'makeup' therefore mostly removed via condenser. Concentration and cooling of the liquid phase is assisted by evaporation of water to maintain the vapour/liquid equilibrium in the lower part of the packed section. The arrangement of the absorber is common to all sizes in the range. The gas is introduced into the column at a point below the packed section and rises counter current to a down comer stream of acid. 'Makeup' water enters above the condenser and in ert gases are vented from the head of the column. The hot concentrated products is passed through an acid cooler before flowing to a storage tank. ADAPTOR 'MAKE' WATER IN COOLENT IN COOLENT OUT HEAT EXCHANGER COOLENT IN PACKED GAS IN COOLENT OUT HEAT EXCHANGER COOLENT IN ADAPTOR Gas Absorber - Falling Film Type Hyderogen chloride feed gas is being allowed to enter from the inlet provided on the upper end of ABSORBER. This gas falls down along with the water inside the vertical parallel glass tubes. This arrangement provides more effective absorption as cooling of dilute acid and absorption of hydrogen chloride gas are taking place simultaneously. It has got more solubility in water at lower temperature. In this way ABSORBER work as a number of water cooled wetted wall columns in parallel. The basic principle involved is falling film absorption which have : Ž ability to absorb large loadings of gas flow. Ž capacity to produce strong acid with minimum vent losses. since absorption is effected at a low temperature. ABSORBER consists of a vertical Shell and Tube Heat Exchanger incorporating economical design considerations. Compactness and light weight are the additional features. HCl Gas Generation Unit (Sulphuric Route) : 'Shyam' Supplies Various Dry HCl gas generation plant based on dif ferent capacities ranging from 5kg./hr. to 300 kg./hr. 30% HCl and 98% Sulphuric acid are fed to the Mixing Zone by the metering pump or from Overhead tank through Rotameter depending upon the customer requirement and site height availability. The HCl and H2SO4 feed are mixed prior to entry into the Reaction zone (Falling Film Tubular Heat Exchanger). The spent Sulphuric acid from the bottom of the Falling Film Tubular Exchanger is cooled in the Heat Exchanger, prior to discharge. The Liquid Cooler uses cooling water for cooling duty. The HCl gas generated in the Falling Film Tubular Heat Exchanger comes in contact with Conc. H2SO4 in the Drying Zone (Dehydrating packed column) Initial drying of the HCl gas takes place in this section. HCl gas from the top of the Dehydrating column is passed through Sulphuric Acid trap to minimize the moisture content in HCl Gas. There are no moving parts in the entire system. The utility requirements as well as floor space requirements for the Plant are minimum. By product 20-21% spent Hydrochloric acid is continuously discharged from the bottom of the stripping column. The 20% spent HCl is cooled by an acid cooler prior to discharge into an intermediate spent acid storage tank. Chilled Water Condenser 3. Chilled Brine Condenser SPENT HCI CONDE. STEAM HCI REBOILER Chilled Brine is to be provided to remove the moisture from the HCl gas. If chilled Brine is not available, Sulphuric acid trap is to be provided to remove the moisture from the gas generated. The Product Dry HCl gas is discharged at atmospheric pressure and goes to downstream equipment. All the wefted parts of the system are fabricated from corrosion resistant materials (Glass/PTFE) for the process conditions envisaged. CONC.HCI LIQUOR TANK CONC. Distillation Assembly on Glass Lined Reactor The type of Typical unit is mounted on a Vapour nozzle of Glasslined Reactor. The assembly has a Glass Packed Column to enhance Distillation. Reflux Divider and Reflux Condenser with twin receiver system is to facilitate working under vacuum or at atmospheric pressure. Receiver System is equipped with Product Cooler. Vent/Vacuum Valve and Drain Valve.
