Main causes of fires in electric systems and mechanisms 1. Arcing at big transition resistance (BTR) as the main current cause of fires in electrical mains. 2. Inflammation from parallel arcing. 4
Arc Fault Detection Device (AFDD) AFDD is in fact the third stage of development of electrical mains protection devices, following automatic circuit breakers and RCDs. It is installed in the distribution board on DIN-rail. It is equipped with AFDD-I control device designed to configure and verify functioning at the places of operation. AFDDs identify arc in the protected circuit and automatically disconnect it from the mains. 5
Standard equipment for protection of electrical circuits To protect electrical line the automatic circuit breakers are used for overcurrent protection (hereinafter ACB, see GOST R 50345-99), as well as circuit breakers operated by differential current (RCD, see GOST R IEC 60755 2012).
