IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS When using electrical appliances, basic precautions should always be followed to reduce the risk of fire, electrical shock, and injury to persons including the following: 1. Read all instructions before using this appliance. 2. This appliance is hot when in use. To avoid burns, do not let bare skin touch hot surfaces. If provided, use handles when moving this appliance. INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS Tools Required for Assembly (not included): Phillips screwdriver, Drill, Hammer, Level Phillips Head Screwdriver Drill Level Hammer INSTALLING YOUR ELECTRIC FIREPLACE Your new electric fireplace may be installed virtually anywhere in your home. However, when choosing a location be sure to follow the general instructions included. For best results install out of direct sunlight. INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS Fig. 1 1. Remove mounting bracket (A) from back of Fireplace (B) by removing the two screws at the top back of the unit (Fig.1). Fig. 2 2. Choose a wall location to attach the mounting bracket (A). Position the mounting bracket (A) in the desired location. Use a level to align the bracket and mark the four holes with a pencil (Fig. 2). Hang the front frame (C) on the fireplace and gently push on the lower part of the frame until it snaps into place. Secure the top frame hooks with the two retaining screws (Fig. 6 & 7). Cold climate installation recommendation: When installing this unit against a non-insulated exterior wall or chase the outer walls must be insulated to conform to applicable insulation codes. 9

OPERATION INSTRUCTIONS Indicators Touch Panel The fireplace can be operated by either the remote control or the control panel. 10

OPERATION INSTRUCTIONS FUNCTION FLAME ICON DESCRIPTION There are 6 brightness levels that can be selected. Settings 6-2 decrease in brightness Setting 1 has no blue glow and is full brightness HEATER The heater can be turned on or off by the remote control or touch control panel. To set the thermostat use the HEATER button on the touch control panel to select the desired room temperature. The HEATER button on the remote will turn the heater on/off to the thermostat setting selected by the control panel. If the heater is turned on and the thermostat measures room temperature below the thermostat setting the heater will run. Once the room temperature has reached the thermostat setting the heater will stop running. The thermostat will continue to cycle the heater on and off until the heater function is turned off using the control panel or remote. The thermostat setting range is 62 F - 82 F or 17 C - 27 C or continually ON. To change between F and C press and hold the HEATER button on the control panel for 3 seconds. TIMER Pressing the timer button will cycle through the timer settings; 30 minutes, 1 Hour, 2H, 3H, 4H, 5H, 6H, 7H, 8H, 9H and off. To cancel the timer once set press the TIMER button twice and the display will flash 0 to show the timer has been canceled. BACKLIGHT Pressing the BACKLIGHT button will change the backlight between the 5 settings: blue, amber blue/amber, auto-cycling and OFF. 11

TROUBLESHOOTING Problem Root Cause Corrective Action No power. No power to the unit. Check that unit is plugged into a standard 120V outlet. Press power button several times, make sure power is set at ON position. Power cord gets warm Normal operation Check your heater cord and plug connections. Faulty wall outlet connections or loose plugs can cause the outlet or plug to overheat. Be sure the plug fits tight in the outlet. Heaters draw more current than small appliances, overheating of the outlet may occur even if it has not occurred with the use of other appliances. During use check frequently to determine if your plug outlet or faceplate is HOT! If so, discontinue use of the heater and have a qualified electrician check and/or replace the faulty outlet(s). Heater does not blow warm air. Thermostat setting is preventing heater from turning on. Adjust the temperature settings to ensure that the thermostat is set higher than the current room temperature. Heater doesn t work, but Power and Heater settings are ON and thermostat is set. Manual reset overheat protection triggered. Turn the POWER to OFF and unplug the unit from the wall outlet for 5 minutes. After 5 minutes plug the unit back into wall outlet, and operate as normal. If the problem presist contact customer service. Flame effect works but heater function does not and the flame effect flashes when the heater button is pressed. Remote Control is not working. The heater is disabled No batteries or poor signal With the power on press and hold the POWER button on the control panel for 10 second. Once re-enabled the flame effect will flash multiple times. Change the remote batteries. Operate remote transmitter at a slow measured pace. Press the remote control buttons with an even motion and gentle pressure. Repeatedly pressing buttons in rapid succession may cause the transmitter to malfunction. The noise when the heater is on is louder than normal. Abnormal noise when the heater is not on and the flame effect is on. Dirty or obstructed air intakes. Defective Blower/Heater Assembly Defective Spinner Motor. Check the air intakes for obstructions or high dust build up. Contact Customer Service for a new Heater/Blower Assembly. Contact Customer Service for a new Spinner Motor. 12

However, we recommend periodic cleaning/vacuuming of the fan/heater. Make sure the unit is turned OFF and unplugged before cleaning the heater or fireplace. 13
