HD COMMUNICATOR Next Generation Communications for Railway Networks Features & Benefits: Unique continuous Redundant Routing capacity. Up to 20km reach on a single copper pair. Echelon & Ethernet connectivity. Full remote management from Central Site. Automatic fault & alarm reporting. The HD Communicator (HDC) enables remote multidrop communications over existing line side copper cables and enables vital, secure network communication to command and control end-points, including the Safetran HD Link Module. The HD Communicator provides Ethernet and Echelon Communications over dual routed networks utilising industrial Ethernet technology. All data is dual routed, to provide a highly resilient network. There is no time delay in providing redundant routing over the HD Communicator Network. The HD Communicator unit provides local Echelon open communications for up to fifteen Safetran HD link units. Echelon Connectivity at 1.25mbps is achieved between each of the HD Communicator units. Complies with EN50121-4, EN50124-1, EN50125-3, and EN50159-2. No field configuration required. Wide operating voltage range 9-32V. IP-62 construction. Ring, Star or Point to Point Topology. Hot swappable during maintenance.
FURTHER INFORMATION No field configuration of the HDC is required, with ease of installation and deployment being of paramount importance in the product design. Each HD Communicator unit on the network can be centrally addressed and managed both for faults and maintenance. WEB INTERFACE MANAGEMENT There are three management interfaces provided on the HDC, Web interface, Telnet and a local serial interface. The Web interface provides a variety of management information screens giving status and performance updates on: Alarms, lines, Neuron interface, and a full time stamped event log. Management via Telnet also has enhanced features for engineers to configure the HDC, update firmware and view a variety of performance stats. The HDC can be centrally managed with access control on each unit to provide protection

HD POWER UNIT Specification: OUTPUT: 14 VDC OUTPUT CURRENT MAX: 14A INPUT: 85 to 264 VAC FREQUENCY: The HD power unit (MOD11166) is specifically designed to power the family of Home and Distant communications equipment within the railway environment. The unit has six individually fused and monitored outputs suitable for both HD Link Modules and HD Communicator units. In the event of a fault in a host unit resulting in excess current, the power unit will be isolate the output and activate the alarm. All other outputs will continue to work as normal. Volt free alarm contacts are provided which can be link configured to NO or NC. To cope with the railway supply, the HD Power unit has a wide-input operating range. The unit is the same fit and form as the HD Communicator, which also aids quick field replacement. 47 to 440Hz OUTPUT TRIP TIME: 8A DELAYED: 1 Second REGULATION: +/- 2% EFFICIENCY FULL O/P: 85% OUTPUT NOISE @ 20 MHz B/W: <25mVP/P
HD LINK MODULE Safety Features: The HD Link Modules are designed to communicate over open transmission systems. The communications system plays no role in safety. Safety is built into the modules and the associated procedures. Configuration procedures contribute to health and safety. Each installation must be designed, checked, approved and tested by competent engineers. Inputs are opto-isolated. Inputs have continuous voltage removal test running to ensure any input referral is detected. Inputs are de-bounced they will only pick after 250ms of trigger voltage between 7.5V and 20V Software filtering to prevent energisation caused by AC voltages between 25Hz + 250Hz Sender & receiver unique addresses (ATCS) True message data from one path of processor firmware 32 bit CRC from complement path of processor firmware Timestamps to eliminate stale messages Message numbers to detect out of sequence messages Hot swappable during maintenance Unique check numbers on installation Outputs are transformer isolated Outputs will only pick with 2 different wave forms from different circuits, triggered by independent routes through the firewall Fail safe to off state SIL 4 NR Product acceptance
