History of the 1720 Standard January 1995 Technical Committee on Fire Service Organization and Deployment, NFPA 1200 Committee Disbanded Fall 1997 Standards Council reaffirms belief of a fire service deployment standard should be pursued. Established two committees one for substantially all career and one for substantially all volunteer May 2001 Both 1710 and 1720 Annual Meeting were adopted in Anaheim, CA. Both documents were issued without amendment. There was no motion or opposition to 1720. July 2001 Standards Council adds Equivalency statement to both 1710 and 1720.
