DesIgn INSPIRATIN Colour palette and creative flair... We produce the widest range of holiday homes and lodges in the industry all with beautiful and distinctly different interior design schemes. But how do we do it? Latest trends Gone are the days when lodge interiors were 10 years behind the curve. We now closely follow the latest trends taking inspiration from high street names like John Lewis, Next & Laura Ashley, and regularly checking out the newest innovations at interior design shows across the globe. Creating the look ur designers pull together images they ve found inspirational, creating a mass of concept design images that together make a Look Book for each new model a kaleidoscope of furniture types and styles, materials and colours. This is just one of the ways we ensure everything in your lodge blends together seamlessly. Traditional methods Whilst our designs may be bang on trend, the traditional method of sketching is still a massive part of what our designers do, outlining the look they want to create. Next they start to look at specific shapes and styles of furniture, and then more closely at the finer details cupboard handles, kitchen taps etc. Wide appeal Sue Brodie, creative lead at Willerby, explains: We try to spread colour palettes evenly across the models, so that we have a portfolio that appeals to all tastes. Creating that wide appeal is fundamental to Sue s department all our processes are designed to ensure that there really is a perfect Willerby lodge for everyone! 6 Sue Brodie, creative lead Designs done what happens next? From the design department s drawings, a chain of work processes begin. The designs are drawn up with precise measurements and construction details right down to deciding where each screw is positioned. Another team plans how the raw materials should best be cut to avoid waste, and another considers the design from a production perspective i.e. the practicalities of putting it all together. Finally our prototype team build a prototype model allowing us to do all our final checks. Then it s onto the production line! Quality Each of our homes exceeds the legislation requirements set by British Standards and the NCC (National Caravan Council) so you can be assured of a great quality lodge. Cladding We offer a wide variety of cladding finishes and window frame colours for you to choose from check our guide on pages 42-43. WarrantIes ur schemes are the most comprehensive in the industry and offer you unrivalled cover, and most of all, peace of mind. See page 39. Safety We always have your safety in mind and your home comes with a variety of safety features; including a fire extinguisher, smoke alarm, carbon monoxide detector and flame retardant furnishings. deluxe pack All models can be specified with an optional Deluxe Pack to enhance your lodge with those little extras such as integrated appliances or a Bluetooth music system. Deluxe Packs differ for each model. Thermal & efficiency ratings We want to keep you snug and your bills low so we work hard to ensure our energy and efficiency ratings are the best in the industry. The NCC Structural Thermal Rating Scheme is designed to give purchasers of Holiday Lodges conforming to EN 1647 an indication of the likely thermal efficiency of the homes they are considering. The scheme takes into consideration the insulation qualities of the fabric of the home and the amount of energy required to heat the air passing through the home. The calculator generates a rating label giving an indication of the fabric and ventilation heat losses. Given that Holiday Lodges are designed for holiday occupancy, they are given a rating that assumes that the home isn t used during the coldest part of the year from the beginning of December until the end of February. The ratings are based on the calculated seasonal heating load per square metre of floor area. A score of between 1 and 10 is awarded to each home based upon its thermal rating. The most thermally efficient homes are those with a high numerical rating. Scores at the upper end of the scale represent industry leading constructions. The seasonal rating provided, enables end-users to compare the typical energy consumption of homes that are of a similar plan area and that are only used in the warmer months. Lodges with features such as double glazing and enhanced insulation packages are likely to have a higher rating than those of more basic construction. Homes with larger floor areas will score more highly than those of identical construction with smaller footprints, care should therefore be taken to only directly compare homes of similar sizes.
