The company HL Plastics Ltd is a plastic extrusion company, designing and manufacturing lead-free PVCu products at its stateof-the-art factory in Denby, Derbyshire. Celebrating its 40th year in business in 2014, the firm launched the Liniar range of PVCu window and door frames in 2008, still the newest and most innovative, energy efficient windows on the market. shop floor at HL Plastics and now runs it as Managing Director. Also part of the group is Tarpey Harris, manufacturers of high quality tooling and wax injection mouldings, supplying customers in the aerospace and power generation industries; and, more recently, Wegoma Machinery Sales Ltd, suppliers of window machinery used in the manufacture of PVCu windows. The Flamstead Group now employs 450 people at its headquarters and other sites in Derbyshire. The products Since the launch of the first Liniar window profile in 2008, the team at HL has continued to develop and design new products, boasting a comprehensive range of energy efficient, lead-free products for example, its bespoke PVCu strong and secure ModLok bi-folding door; the Liniar patio door, the smoothest and most secure on the market; and the matching Liniar Zoom conservatory roof system all available in a wide choice of colours and styles. In addition to windows, doors and roofs, the company s range of plastic piling, an eco-friendly flood defence and retention system, is now being exported internationally with regular orders to Bangkok, Thailand - with Liniar PVCu decking, fencing and caravan verandah products also seeing huge success in the domestic and holiday park markets. Commited to innovation In 2007, HL Plastics owner Roger Hartshorn surrounded himself with a team of experts from the windows industry and set about designing a completely new window system from scratch. The chamfered Liniar window system was launched in 2008 with a technically advanced profile, combining for the first time unparalleled strength with high energy efficiency all in one window. A sculptured window system, residential doors, French doors, patio doors, bi-folding doors and conservatory roofs have all followed, together with the Liniar EnergyPlus window system which launched in 2010 and comprises an innovative 6-chambered PVCu frame, helping to keep even more heat inside the home. Innovation is the lifeblood of HL Plastics, and a dedicated Design and Development team keep the company at the forefront of technical advancements this year, the company has also invested in its own testing laboratory, complete with a robot to cycle test the opening mechanisms of the door.
