READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE USE. Check that the voltage in your home corresponds to that stated on the rating plate of the appliance before using. To protect against electrical shock do not immerse cord, plug, or the motor unit in water or other liquids. Close supervision is necessary when the appliance is used near children. This appliance is not intended to be used by children. Unplug from outlet when not in use, and before putting on or taking off parts, or before cleaning. Avoid contact with moving parts. Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug or after the appliance malfunctions or has been damaged in any manner. Return appliance to the authorized service facility for examination, repair, or adjustment. The use of accessories or attachments not recommended by the appliance manufacturer may cause fire, electric shock or injury. Blades are sharp. Handle carefully. Always handle blades with your hand away from the cutting edge. Always store blades with the cutting edge away from you. Do not use outdoors or for commercial purposes. Do not let cord hang over edge of table or counter or touch hot surfaces. Do not place on or near a hot gas or electric burner, or in a heated oven. To disconnect, put appliance in off position and remove the plug from the wall outlet. Do not use appliance for other than intended use. It is absolutely necessary to keep the blades of this appliance clean at all times as they come into direct contact with food. Do not attempt to sharpen the blades. Polarized plug instructions This appliance is equipped with a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other). To reduce the risk of electric shock, this plug will fit into the polarized outlet only one way. If the plug does not properly fit into the outlet at first, reverse it. If it still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician. Do not attempt to modify the plug in any way. Short cord instructions A short power supply cord is provided to reduce the hazards resulting from becoming entangled in, or tripping over a longer cord. Extension cords may be used if care is exercised in their use. The electrical rating of the extension cord should be at least that of the appliance. If the electrical rating of the extension cord is too low, it could overheat and burn. The resulting extended cord should be arranged so that it will not drape over the counter top or tabletop where it can be pulled on by children or tripped over. Part description 1 1. Storage box 2. Before the first use Before initial use, and after each subsequent use, remove the plastic safety sheath, then wash the knife blades in warm soapy water and dry thoroughly, or wash in an automatic dishwasher. Please refer to the section Care and Cleaning for more details. Wipe the power handle with a damp cloth to clean. Never immerse the power handle in water or any other liquids. Blades are sharp; handle carefully. How to use Caution: Always handle blades by the plastic guards, by the blunt edge of the knife or with the plastic safety sheath when inserting or removing them from the power handle, and during cleaning. The blades are extremely sharp. Keep fingers away from the cutting edge! Use the electric knife for boiled, roasted or baked food. Do not cut frozen or very hard food. Do not attempt to cut bones or anything other than food. Make sure the appliance is unplugged before inserting the blades. Hold the blades by the plastic guards and insert them into the power handle with the serrated edge facing the underside of the power handle. Slide the blades as far as possible into the power handle to ensure that the blades are fully engaged. You should hear a click sound as each blade is locked in position. Plug the cord into a wall outlet. Be sure to remove the blade safety sheath from the blades. Hold the food firmly in place with the supplied carving fork. Place the blade near the food to cut, and press on the on-off switch on the underside of the power handle. Always cut through the food carefully, from top to bottom; cut with only little pressure on the knife s power handle. To stop the blades, simply release the on-off switch. Be careful not to cut into bones; otherwise your blades might become blunt. After use, unplug the appliance immediately from the wall outlet. Note: During operation, be sure to position your hand away from the moving blades, and behind the blades release switch, to avoid accidentally disengaging the blades. Note: If the knife is held incorrectly and if the blades disengage during operation, the electric knife may stall and not cut correctly. MODEL: 44047-14 11/2014 5

Helpful hints Carve preferably on a wooden board, since metal or china may get scratched and damaged by any knife. For best results when cutting through thick crusts, hold the knife at a slight angle while cutting the crust. Once you have cut through the crust, finish slicing the bread with the knife blade straight with the bread. Before carving cooked meats, allow meat to stand for 10 minutes after removal from the oven, to set juices. This makes for an easier and cleaner slicing. Care and cleaning Be sure the electric knife is unplugged. To remove the blades, press the blade release switch. Hold the blades through the plastic guards and pull the blades away from the power handle. Separate the 2 blades by sliding the rivet from the one blade out of the keyhole slot of the other blade. Carefully wash the blades and carving fork in warm soapy water. Blades and fork may also be washed in an automatic dishwasher. Dry thoroughly and slide the plastic safety sheath over the blades. Wipe the power handle with a damp cloth. Never immerse the power handle in water or any other liquid Store the electric knife, the reassembled blades (serrated edge facing down) and the carving fork in their storage box. Blades are sharp; always handle carefully. 6 MODEL:44047-14 11/2014
