On Group I and Group II passenger vessels and all other passenger vessels with overnight accommodations for more than 36 passengers, an automatic sprinkler system complying with 9.2.7 or a water mist system complying with 9.2.8 shall be installed to protect all accommodation, service and storage spaces. The Technical Committee made this change to establish a minimum requirement for automatic sprinkler protection or automatic water mist protection for passenger vessels with overnight accommodations for more than 36 passengers. 5
