IMPORTANT: Read these instructions for use carefully. Familiarise yourself with the appliance before connecting it to a gas cartridge. This appliance is for use only with 220g butane gas cartridges certified to EN417, DOT2P, UN2037. GENERAL WARNINGS Please read all instructions carefully. CAUTION - IT MAY BE HAZARDOUS TO ATTEMPT TO FIT OTHER TYPES OF GAS CONTAINERS. IMPORTANT - This appliance shall only be used with 220g butane gas cartridges certified to EN417, DOT2P, UN2037 with push fitting. Never leave the heater unattended when in use. Always use oven mitts/oven gloves when handling the heater after use. CAUTION - accessible parts may be very hot. Keep young children away. 2

Owners Manual CARBON MONOXIDE HAZARD This appliance can produce carbon monoxide which has no odour. Using it in an enclosed space (for example, caravan, tent, car, mobile home) may cause death. Installation, operation and maintenance instructions Safety information: if you smell gas If there is a leak on your appliance (smell of gas), immediately attempt to turn off. Remove the appliance to a well ventilated location away from any ignition source. Only check for leaks outdoors using soapy water. Do not try to detect leaks using a flame. When leak has stopped, ventilate and disperse gas from the area before continuing. If gas leak continues call After Sales Support 1300 555 197 immediately. Do not remove regulator, connect to high-pressure canister or use adaptors. when changing gas cartridge ensure that it is undertaken in a well ventilated area outdoors and away from sources of ignition such as naked flames, pilot flames, electrical and heating equipment and people. To check if cartridge has sufficient gas pick up cartridge and shake from side to side. If there is movement or the sound of liquid moving inside the cartridge, it will contain gas. SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS This appliance shall only be used in an above ground open air situation with natural ventilation, without stagnant areas, where gas leakage and products of combustion are rapidly dispersed by wind and natural convection. Any enclosure in which the appliance is used shall comply with one of the following: (A) An enclosure with walls on all sides, but with no overhead cover. (B) Within a partial enclosure that includes an overhead cover and no more than two walls. 1 1 2 (C) Within a partial enclosure that includes an overhead cover and more than two walls, the following shall apply: (1) At least 25% of the total wall area is completely open. (2) 30% or more in total of the remaining wall side, back and front wall areas is open and unrestricted. (3) In the case of balconies, 20% or more of the total wall area shall remain open and unrestricted. 1 4 2

Installation of the appliance This appliance is fitted with leg supports located at the front of the appliance, it is important that these supports are locked in position every time that the appliance is in operation. Install the appliance on a firm, level, horizontal surface. To level the appliance, use a spirit level or a vessel containing water, if necessary. Avoid installing the appliance in direct sunlight or near any source of heat. The distance between the rear of the appliance and a wall should not be less than 100mm and the minimum ventilating space from the sides of the appliance should never be less than 100mm. The location should be protected from rain and splashing. A good level of air circulation is required to ensure maximum performance, do not obstruct the ventilation grids of the upper, lower or rear surface of the appliance. Complying with the above will ensure efficient and economical cooling of the unit. Before first use of the appliance, clean the inside and the cover of the appliance with warm water. Never use an abrasive product. 6

Owners Manual Safety after installation The purpose of this section is to direct your attention to the possibility of accidents that can be avoided. This appliance is not to be used in enclosed areas and must be operated away from any type of flammable material or liquid. This appliance must be operated a minimum of 100mm from all solid or non-combustible surfaces. During the operation of this appliance all air openings and vents must be kept free from obstructions to ensure correct operation. Remember the appliance produces heat, therefore some parts will get hot. Allow to cool before touching. Do not leave children unattended near the appliance when in use. Do not store or use petrol or other flammable liquids in the vicinity of this or any other appliance. Do not modify this appliance. Do not allow clothing to pass over or lay on the appliance. Protect the appliance from wind and drafts when in use. Do not use in enclosed space. Carbon monoxide hazard. This appliance can produce carbon monoxide, which has no odour. Using it in an enclosed space (eg. Caravans, tents, car and mobile homes) may cause death. Do not operate appliance below ground level or in areas where unburned gas could build up. Do not move appliance while operating Clean after use. Do not use this appliance if it is leaking, damaged or does not work properly. Do not use this appliance if it has damaged or worn seals. Store the gas cartridge outdoors in a well ventilated area or in a storage area compliant with AS1596. CAUTION NEVER assemble or operate the unit on unstable or uneven ground. Always operate in open and well-ventilated areas. NEVER operate inside a tent, caravan, camper trailer vehicle or boat. NEVER leave the unit unattended whilst operating. NEVER open the control panel or disassemble unit. This appliance is not intended for use by young children or infirm persons unless they have been adequately supervised by a responsible person to ensure that they can use the appliance safely. Young children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance. 7

1 2 3 A A OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS to turn ON Please read the instruction manual in its entirety before operating the heater. Failure to follow the precautions and instructions may result in death, serious injury and property loss. Only persons who understand and follow the instructions should use the gas heater. Step 1. Pull out the two front feet. Put the heater on a firm and flat surface. Make sure the control knob is at the LOW position and the cartridge lever is at the OFF position. Open the cartridge cover. Step 2. Locate the handle in the down position. Fit gas cartridge ensuring that the locating tab (A) on the regulator is positioned in the cut out on the cartridge. Step 3. Make sure the Control Knob is at the LOW position. Press the Cartridge Lever to the ON position. Step 4. Turn the Control Knob anti-clockwise towards the IGNITE direction until you hear a click sound. If the flame is on, hold the Control Knob 10 seconds. Step 5. If the flame fails, release the Control Knob and try another click until the flame is on. Turn the Control Knob to the desired position to get your ideal heat output. 4 5 8

Owners Manual 1 OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS to turn OFF Step 1. Turn the Control Knob to Pilot Light position to close the gas supply. Step 2. Lift the Cartridge lever to the OFF position to release the cartridge and remove it. 2 9

PAY ATTENTION TO THE FOLLOWING WHEN USING THE HEATER Do not use the heater to dry clothing or flammable articles. Do not cover any part of the heater when in use. Do not touch the hot parts of the heater during or after use. These parts include the exterior panels, wire frame and ceramic slate. Do not use the heater to cook food. Do not roast food on the heater. The heater is not to be used in unventilated spaces. The cartridge groove must be fitted as shown in the diagram to match the guide on the gas regulator. Do not use in windy locations as the flame will most likely be extinguished. Do not place the heater in direct sunlight. Find a shady location, away from sand and loose soil. 100mm 100mm Always place heater on heat proof surfaces, away from flammable materials. Always give the heater at least 100mm clearance from surrounding items. For outdoor use only - only use in well ventilated areas. Use appliance on firm, level horizontal surface. 10

Owners Manual Storage of the appliance Make sure heater is cool before storing. Disconnect gas cartridge after use and in transportation. Never leave butane gas cartridge connected to the heater when not in use or during storage. Never store butane gas near high heat, open flames, pilot lights, direct sunlight or any other ignition source or where temperature exceeds 50 degrees Celsius. Daily checks & maintenance Do not disassemble and reassemble the heater. Appliance is only to be serviced by an Authorised Service Agent - Contact After Sales Support 1300 300 018 If not using the heater for a long period Take the gas cartridge out. Ensure the heater does not accumulate mildew or dust. Keep it dry and clean. Once heater has cooled down, place heater in its case and store in a cool, dry place. Store the heater and gas cartridges separately. 11
