Congratulations on your purchase of the VP-6N, an advanced wireless alarm system. The VP -6N has been designed for fast and simple installation. The unit has been built using the most advanced microprocessor technology and production methods. Being tested by means of special computerized test jig, the VP-6N offers security and durability in time. 1.0. DESCRIPTI The VP-6N is a compact, self protected wireless security system, ideal for protection of homes, shops, offices, boats, campers etc. against; burglaries, fires, gas leaks, hold-up and medical distress. Characteristics: The VP-6N is a wireless self-learning system called PEGASO, capable of learning up to 4 billion different codes. Each wireless sensor is factory programmed and has its own code and will be linked with the desired VP-6N by means of the PEGASO self-learning system Total or partial arming (DAY or NIGHT) Siren incorporated Optical signals for all functions. Other characteristics: Microprocessor controlled 40 wireless zones for sensor and sirens. Each zone can be programmed as burglary, fire or gas, immediate, delayed, Day or Night. 2.0. INSTALLATI To obtain the maximum performance from the VP-6N, the following procedure must be followed: Mount the VP-6N control panel centrally located between the various sensors (see Fig. 1). If the security system is to protect premises on various floors, install the control panel at one third of the height of the building (for example in a building of three floors, the panel must be installed on the first floor). Do not install cables within a 1.5 meter radius of the VP-6N. The power supply cable must be directed downwards from the unit. Avoid to install the control panel in the proximity of inductive loads (electric motors or similar), on metal surfaces, adjacent to elevators. D D B D To install the VP-6N use the screws supplied. C Fig. 1 3.0. CNECTI TO MAINS POWER Power to recharge and maintain the units internal battery is secured by the 230 Vac 14 Vdc power adaptor. During installation, insert the plug on the right hand side of the unit (see on the right), then plug the power adaptor into the nearest mains outlet. 230 Vac mains outlet Once the unit is powered up, the green power LED will light indicating mains presence (see on the right). Note: The red LEDs marked DAY ZE and NIGHT ZE are not active with the main power supply cut. POWER Before plugging the AC adaptor into the mains outlet, make sure that the ATTENTI voltage rating marked on the power adaptor is the same as that of the outlet. Electrical building installation must be equipped with a bipolar automatic switch with current of 1A. The sectioning device of the power line is the plug: in case of ordinary maintenance, first unplug the device from the outlet. If the power adaptor is removed from the mains outlet for a period longer than 3 days, it is necessary that the VP-6N be powered down (key in OFF position). Draining the units internal battery completely may cause permanent damage to the battery. Pag. 3

4.0. LOW BATTERY SIGNALLING In the absence of mains power the unit s internal battery will power the VP-6N for approximately 5 days (LEDs OFF). The normal battery operating voltage is V - 700 mah. Should the battery voltage fall below 10.5 V then this condition will be LOW BATTERY signalled by the lighting of the LOW BATTERY LED (see diagram on the right). If this condition occurs the battery must be charged for at least 24 hours. If after having charged the battery, the LOW BATTERY LED remains lit, then the power adaptor or the battery are faulty and must be replaced. ATTENTI In respect of the environment, batteries should not be discharged of with the normal waste, but must be discharged of in the appropriate bins used for such gatherings, otherwise should be brought to specialized centers. 5.0. SERVICE KEY The key switch on the left hand side of the VP-6N (see figure on the right) is used as an / OFF device for the apparatus and must be used only as a service or emergency device. The service key does not arm or disarm the unit Turning the key clockwise ( position), all the functions are activated. Turning the key counter clockwise (OFF position), all functions are deactivated, but the recharge of the incorporated battery is guaranteed.. OFF ATTENTI Every time the VP-6N is turned, the system automatically switches itself directly into OFF status (disarmed), whichever be the status it was in (armed/disarmed) when last turned OFF. This is signaled with the emission of 2 beeps (if dip 3 is in position). The service key should be kept in a safe place and used only in case of necessity (programming mode, maintenance etc.). 6.0. SELECTI OF FUNCTIS The functions listed on the below table, can be selected by using dips 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5. These can be found by removing the sliding cover situated above the service key (see figure on the right). ATTENTI The selection must be made with the key in the OFF position. 7.0. PROGRAMMING While programming, the following operations can be made: Programming of the sensors (burglary, fire/gas) up to a maximum of 40 Programming of the keychain transmitters up to a maximum of Cancellation of one or more of the sensors or transmitters Cancellation of a group of sensor (with the same configuration) or of all keychain transmitters Total cancellation of memory Note: Programming must be done with at least one of the tamper buttons open. To program after installation, the service key must be turned to the OFF position before removing the VP-6N from the wall. 7.1. PROGRAMMING of: wireless sensors and keychain transmitters 1) Rotate the service key to OFF position. 2) Verify that at least one of tamper button is open. 3) Verify that dip is in the OFF position. 4) Rotate the service key to position. THE DAY ZE and NIGHT ZE LED will go. 5) Position dip 10 OFF and 11 (see Table 1 on page 7). 6) Position dip 6, 7, 8 and 9 as illustrated in Table 2 on page 7. 7) Position dip. 3 beeps will be emitted. 8) Transmit an alarm signal with the sensor to be programmed (see instructions included with sensor), or press "Button 1" on the keychain transmitter to be programmed. a) The VP-6N emits 1 beep to confirm that the code transmitted by the sensor or keychain transmitter has been memorized. b) If 2 beeps are emitted, this means that the code transmitted has already been memorized. c) If on the other hand 3 beeps are emitted, this means that the transmitted code cannot be memorised because the memory is full, that is all the codes allowed have been memorized: 40 for the sensors and for the keychain transmitters. 9) To program a second sensor with the same configuration of the previous, or another keychain transmitter, repeat operation (8). 10) If you want to program a second sensor with a different configuration of the previous, repeat operations (3), (6), (7) e (8). 11) After having programmed the unit, we recommend filling in Table 3 on Page 8. It is also advisable to number each sensor and keychain transmitter so that they can be easily identified. ) If one or more sensors are cancelled, any successive sensors programmed will take the place of those cancelled starting from the lowest position (see Table 3 on page 8). The same thing applies for the remote key-chain transmitters. Example: If 20 sensors have been programmed and then 2 are cancelled, to be precise, the ones that occupy positions number 3 and, the first sensor subsequently programmed will occupy position number 3 and the following one, position number. 13) After having finished the programming, position dip switch on OFF. A long beep will be emitted. 14) Reposition the cover and close both tamper switches. The DAY ZE and NIGHT ZE" LEDs go OFF and 2 beeps are emitted to signal that the VP-6N is operative in the disarmed mode. OFF 1110 Pag. 9

7.2. CANCELLATI of one or more wireless sensors or transmitters 1) Rotate the service key to OFF position. OFF 2) Verify that at least one of tamper button is open. 3) Verify that dip is in the OFF position. 4) Rotate the service key to position. THE DAY ZE and NIGHT ZE LED will go. 5) Position dip 10 to and 11 to OFF (see Table 1 on page 7). 1110 6) Sensors Consult Table 3 (see page 8) filled in during the programming phase to see the configuration of the sensor that must be cancelled. Therefore, position the dips 6, 7, 8 and 9 according to Table 2 on page 7. Transmitters Position the dips 6, 7, 8 e 9 according to the indications on the last line of Table 2 on page 7. Example: If 5 sensors have all been programmed as Immediate Day and you only wish to cancel 2, position the dips 6, 7, 8 and 9 all to OFF (see Table 2 on page 7). 7) Position dip to. 3 beeps will be emitted. 8) Transmit with the device to be cancelled.. As far as the keychain transmitters are concerned it is sufficient to press "Button 1". 4 beeps will be emitted to confirm cancellation. 9) To cancel other sensors or transmitters with the same configuration of the previous, repeat for each one operation (8) above. 10) At the end of the operation reposition the dip to OFF. A long beep will be emitted. 11) To cancel a sensor with a different configuration of the previous, repeat operations (6), (7), (8), (9) e (10). ) Reposition the cover and close both tamper switches. The DAY ZE and NIGHT ZE" LEDs go OFF and 2 beeps are emitted to signal that the VP-6N is operative in the disarmed mode. Pag. 10

Example: If 5 sensors have all been programmed as Immediate Day and you wish to cancel them all, position the dips 6, 7, 8 and 9 all to OFF (see Table 2 on page 7). 7) Position dip to. 3 beeps will be emitted followed after a few seconds by another 2 beeps to confirm the cancellation of the selected devices. 8) At the end of the operation reposition the dip to OFF. A long beep will be emitted. 9) Reposition the cover and close both tamper switches. PROGRAMMING OF TLM-18VRP WIRELESS SIREN 1) Remove the cover and the internal panel of the siren and position the sirens dip 3 to and dips 4, 5 to OFF. 2) Power up the siren leaving the tamper button opened. A beep will be emitted approximately every 7 seconds. 3) Arm the control panel using one of the programmed keychain transmitters. This operation must be carried out with the tamper button of the control panel closed. 4) The TLM-18VRP will emit 3 beeps to confirm that self-learning of the siren has taken place. 5) Position dip 3 to OFF. 6) Remove the sirens power supply (battery and mains power adaptor). 7) Rotate the service key of the control panel to OFF position. 8) Verify that the tamper button of the control panel is opened. 9) Verify that dip on the control panel is positioned to OFF. 10) Rotate the service key to position. DAY ZE and NIGHT ZE LEDs will go. 11) Select on the control panel programming of the wireless sensors configured as Immediate Day position the dips as follows: Dip 10 to OFF Dip 11 to Dip 6, 7, 8 e 9 all to OFF ) Position on control panel dip to. 3 beeps are emitted. 13) Power up the siren leaving the tamper button open. 14) Close the tamper button. The siren emits 3 beeps and triggers a tamper alarm. This code is learned by the control panel. 15) Reposition on the control panel dip to OFF. A long beep is emitted. 16) Proceed with the installation of the TLM-18VRP following the siren instruction manual. The tampering of the siren will also trigger the alarm of the VP-6N. Pag.

A long beep is emitted. 16) Proceed with the installation of the TLM-21VRP following the instructions supplied with the siren. The tampering of the siren will also trigger the alarm of the VP-6N. 8.0. ZE DESCRIPTI The VP-6N has 40 wireless zones for sensors and sirens. Each zone can be programmed as burglary, fire/gas, immediate, delayed, Day or Night. The Delayed zone (both Day or Night) have a fixed entrance time of 10 seconds. The intrusion of a delayed zone provokes the emission of an acoustic signal as a pre -alarm for the entire time of entrance (a beep approximately every second). At the end of the 10 seconds, if the system has not been disarmed, an alarm cycle will be activated. The exit time is of 25 seconds from the moment that the VP-6N is armed. During the exit time no acoustic signal is emitted, but the DAY ZE or "NIGHT ZE LED flashes depending on if the VP-6N is armed in Day or Night mode. The Day zones are only activated when the system is armed in Day mode. The Night zones are activated with the system armed in both Night and Day. The Fire or Gas, Panic and Tamper zones are always active whether the system is armed in Day, Night mode or totally disarmed. 9.0. ARMING OF SYSTEM 9.1. FULL ARMING (DAY mode) Press Button 1 on the three channel keychain transmitter. The emission of a beep and a flash of the red LED DAY ZE indicate that the system has been fully armed ( DAY mode). The LED flashes for the entire exit time of 25 seconds during which the VP-6N any alarm signal will be disregarded. Button 1 At the end of the exit time, the LED will go. From this moment the VP-6N is armed. Any alarm signal from the sensors configured DAY or NIGHT triggers an alarm cycle for the programmed time. After each alarm cycle, the VP-6N will reset and be ready for another alarm. If the alarm cycle counter is activated (see paragraph.0.), the VP-6N will carry out a maximum of 4 alarm cycles for each type of alarm detected. To signal the "DAY" arming mode, the TLM-18VRP wireless sirens will emit a beep (excludible), while the TLM-21VRP wireless sirens will emit a flash and a beep (excludible). 9.2. PARTIAL ARMING (Night mode) Press Button 2 on the three channel keychain transmitter. The emission of a long beep and a flash of the red LED NIGHT ZE indicates that the system has been partially armed ( NIGHT mode). The LED flashes for the entire exit time of 25 seconds during which the VP-6N will disregard alarm signals. At the end of the exit time, the LED will go. Button 2 From this moment the VP-6N is armed. Any alarm signal from the sensors configured NIGHT trigger an alarm cycle for the programmed time. All sensors configured DAY are excluded. After each alarm cycle, the VP-6N will reset and be ready for another alarm. If the alarm cycle counter is activated (see paragraph.0.), the VP-6N will carry out a maximum of 4 alarm cycles for each type of alarm detected. The partial arming will not be signalled by the wireless sirens installed. 9.3. DISARMING Press Button 1 on the three channel keychain transmitter. The emission of 2 beeps and the turning OFF of the DAY ZE or NIGHT ZE LED (depending on how the system is armed Day or Night), indicate that the system has been disarmed (OFF). If while the system was armed in Day or Night mode, an alarm event have been detected, then the alarm memory function will Button 1 initiate when the VP-6N is disarmed and remains active until the control panel is once again armed (see paragraph 14.0.). To signal the disarming mode, the TLM-18VRP wireless sirens will emit 2 beeps (excludible), while the TLM-21VRP wireless sirens will emit 2 flashes and 2 beeps (excludible). ATTENTI With the system disarmed, Fire, Gas and Tamper alarms, Panic and Medical Distress functions always remain active. Pag. 15

10.0. TEST FOR WIRELESS SENSORS Once VP-6N and all peripherals have been installed, it is possible to verify the functioning of the range of the wireless sensors without provoking an alarm. 1) Disarm the VP-6N with the supplied keychain transmitter. 2) The violation of the zones protected by the peripherals (IR-32VRP, MG-1P, MG-3P etc.) provoke the lighting of the DAY ZE or NIGHT ZE LED depending on how the sensors have been programmed (Day or Night). 3) The DAY ZE or NIGHT ZE LED lights every time that there is an intrusion in the zone. 11.0. FUNCTIING In case of burglary, fire or gas, panic and tamper alarm, the VP-6N activates the following devices: 1) Incorporated siren The siren sounds for the entire time set (2 or 4 minutes). N.B. In case of panic alarm, the siren sounds only if an audible panic alarm is chosen. 2) Wireless siren (TLM-18VRP (indoor) and TLM-21VRP (outdoor)) - If the alarm time selected is 2 minutes, the sirens sound for 2 minutes. - If the alarm time selected is 4 minutes, the indoor siren sounds for 4 minutes, while the outdoor siren sounds for 3 minutes which is the maximum alarm time of the siren. N.B. In case of panic alarm, the siren sounds only if an audible panic alarm is chosen. A) After an alarm cycle the VP-6N resets itself and is ready for another alarm. B) An alarm can be interrupted by pressing "Button 1" of the keychain transmitter. VP-6N armed The interruption of a burglary, fire/gas, hold-up and tamper alarm will cause: - The interruption of incorporated siren and remote indoor and outdoor sirens. - Disarming of the VP-6N (2 beeps will be emitted). - The alarm memory activation. - The interruption of the alarm calling cycle of the wired telephone dialler connected to the telephone plug incorporated in the VP-6N. VP-6N disarmed Permanent interruption of a fire/gas, hold-up and tamper alarms. C) Tamper violation of the TLM-21VRP and TLM-18VRP sirens will trigger an alarm of the VP -6N which consequently activate all other wireless devices installed (sirens, etc.). Pag. 16

.0. ALARM CYCLE COUNTER Counter activated (dip 4 ) In case of alarm (burglary, hold-up, fire and tamper), the VP-6N carries out, for the same alarm cause, a maximum of 4 alarm cycles of the duration of the time set with dip 2. After which, the VP-6N will no longer trigger by the same alarm cause. It will however be triggered if the cause of alarm is different. Example: If a wireless sensor or the magnetic contact triggers an alarm for 4 consecutive time, the VP-6N carries out an alarm cycle each time. If the same sensor or magnetic contact is triggered a fifth time, the VP-6N will not alarm. Deactivated counter (dip 4 OFF) In case of alarm (burglary, hold-up, fire and tamper), the VP-6N carries out an alarm cycle of the duration of the time set with dip 2. The alarms will continue based on the alarms triggered. 13.0. HOLD-UP ALARM To call for help in the case of danger or medical distress, press Button 3 on the keychain transmitter as shown on the design on the right. The button can be easily found by sliding the protection cover towards. The hold-up function can be activated at any time regardless at the status of the alarm system (armed or not armed). The hold-up alarm provoked the immediate activation of the devices listed in points 1) and 2) on paragraph 11.0. Button 3 Slide 13.1. 14.0. ALARM MEMORY VP-6N armed If during arming in "Day" or "Night" mode one or more alarm events occur, when the VP-6N is disarmed, the "Alarm memory" will be activated. Only the first alarm event triggered will be indicated by the short flashing of the "NIGHT ZE" LED and long flashing of the "DAY ZE" LED and by the emission of short and long beeps (the beeps can be excluded by positioning dip-switch 5 to OFF - see Table on page 5). To limit the number of flashes and beeps emitted the following system has been used: The "NIGHT ZE" LED short flashing and short beep indicates each unit. The "DAY ZE" LED long flashing and long beep indicates ten units. Looking at the Table 3 on page 8, the first column indicates the number of flashes and beeps emitted, while the second column shows the devices (tamper, wireless sensors and keychain transmitters) associated to the position occupied in the first column. Therefore, from the number of flashes and beeps emitted, it is possible to see which of the devices has gone into alarm. Examples: 1) One short flash of the "NIGHT ZE" LED and one short beep, indicate a tamper alarm. 2) 3 short flashes of the "NIGHT ZE" LED and 3 short beeps indicate an alarm on sensor number 2. 3) One long flash of the "DAY ZE" LED and one long beep, plus 3 short flashes of the "NIGHT ZE" LED and 3 short beeps, indicate an alarm on sensor number. 4) 2 long flashes of the "DAY ZE" LED and 2 long beeps, plus 5 short flashes of the "NIGHT ZE" LED and 5 short beeps indicate an alarm on sensor number 24. 5) 4 long flashes of the "DAY ZE" LED and 4 long beeps, plus 2 short flashes of the "NIGHT ZE" LED and 2 short beeps indicate the hold-up alarm activated by the first programmed keychain transmitter. VP-6N disarmed If during disarming mode one or more alarm events occur, when the VP-6N is newly armed, the system will not arm, but 2 beep will be emitted and the "Alarm memory" will be activated to indicate, whit the above described mode, the first alarm event triggered. At this point, to arm the VP-6N press "Button 1" on the keychain transmitter to reset the alarm memory, then press newly "Button 1" (to arm in "Day" mode) or "Button 2" (to arm in "NIGHT" mode). 14.1. ALARM MEMORY RESET The alarm memory can be cancelled by pressing "Button 1" of the keychain transmitter. The emission of a short beep will confirm alarm memory. Pag. 18
