EXPLANATION OF GRAPHICAL SYMBOLS The lightning flash with arrowhead symbol within an equilateral triangle is intended to alert the user to the presence of uninsulated "dangerous voltage" within the product's enclosure that may be of sufficient magnitude to constitute a risk of electric shock to persons. The exclamation point within an equilateral triangle is intended to alert the user to the presence of important operating and maintenance (servicing) instruction in the literature accompanying the product. IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS, CONTINUED 14. DAMAGE REQUIRING SERVICE Unplug the unit from the outlet and refer servicing to qualified service personnel under the following conditions: a. When the power-supply cord or plug is damaged. b. If the unit does not operate normally by following the operating instructions. Adjust only those controls that are covered by the operating instructions as an improper adjustment of other controls may result in damage and will often require extensive work by a qualified technician to restore the unit to its normal operation. c. If the unit has been dropped or the enclosure has been damaged. d. When the unit exhibits a distinct change in performance - this indicates a need for service. 15. REPLACEMENT PARTS When replacement parts are required, be sure the service technician has used replacement parts specified by the manufacturer or have the same characteristics as the original part. Unauthorized substitutions may result in fire, electric shock or other hazards. 16. SAFETY CHECK Upon completion of any service or repairs to this unit, ask the service technician to perform safety checks to determine that the unit is in proper operating condition. 17. LIGHTNING AND POWER LINE SURGES For added protection of this unit when it is left unattended and unused for long periods of time, unplug it from the power source and disconnect the cable system. This will prevent damage to the unit due to lightning and power-line surges. 18. MOUNTING The product should be mounted only as recommended by the manufacturer WARNING WARNING: THIS UNIT MUST BE CONNECTED TO A GOOD EARTH GROUND. 1.1 PRODUCT DESCRIPTION The HD8EXGCM18C is constructed of 316L stainless steel for applications in extremely hazardous locations. 2.1 INSTALLATION, CEILING MOUNT WARNING: The mount must be attached to a structure of adequate strength for the purpose. Appropriate hardware must be used for the type and state of the surface/structure that provides adequate support for the working load of the housing and camera assembly. 1. Use the dimensions and hole pattern in Figure 1 to attach the mount to the structure surface. The hardware to attach the mount to the wall surface is provided by the installer. 2.1 INSTALLATION, CONTINUED b. Install the PTZ assembly. Align the lug on the plug and play connector on the PTZ assembly with the slot in the mounting bracket. Push the PTZ camera assembly up into the connector, rotate the assembly clockwise and allow it to fall into the retaining slot. Refer to Figures 3 and 4. 2.1 INSTALLATION, CONTINUED 2. Connect the field wiring to the housing. a. Remove the cover (near the cable fittings) from the housing by removing the 4 screws that secure the cover to the housing. b. Route the field wiring through the cable gland fittings (3 x 20mm or 3 x 25mm) and connect to the terminals as defined in Figure 5. Figure 4. WIRING c. 2.1 INSTALLATION, CONTINUED 3. Secure the housing to the mount. Refer to figure 6. a. Secure the safety chain provided between the mount and the housing. b. Slide the housing into the groves in the mounting bracket and secure with the 4 screws provided (2 on each side). Secure Safety Chain Secure Housing to Mount in 4 places (2 each side) Figure 5.
