Our services not only include, but transcend the traditional functions. In doing so, we provide not only protection but peace of mind for those businesses whose employees are making a vital contribution to developing countries. Charities/NGOs Our comprehensive support services enable international peace and security organisations to carry out sustainable and effective humanitarian and peacekeeping programmes throughout the world. For over 18 years, our ordnance management division has provided support to humanitarian programmes in Sudan, Cyprus and Mozambique, as well as reconstruction programmes in Afghanistan. Government As a trusted partner to a number of governments worldwide, we keep some of the world s most important buildings safe and secure. Oil & Gas We know firsthand how to help oil & gas clients generate results in challenging environments. Our expertise and knowledge has been gained from providing security solutions across Russia, Central Asia, Latin America, Africa and the Middle East. Our people In all the countries that we operate, we combine the scale and resources of a large global business with strong local capabilities and expertise. Our local and national capacity is built through comprehensive training, supervision and management. Globally, we employ some 3,500 staff, half of which are made up of G4S local employees. The deep knowledge and expertise of our local employees is a great advantage in consolidating our long-term position in the countries we operate. Setting industry standards Our parent company, G4S plc, is one of the founding signatories of the International Code of Conduct for Private Security Providers. This Code sets out principles for security operations in areas experiencing or recovering from disaster or unrest, and where governments and the rule of law are weak. We have a comprehensive Quality Management System accredited to ISO 9001:2008, and a clearly defined, formal ethical policy which details how each of our activities are conducted. We have stringent procedures in place to ensure our employees act at all times within the relevant international and local legal frameworks. In addition, our ordnance management operations are registered with the National Demining Authority and comply with International Mine Action Standards (IMAS).
