10/20 Information Session Comments For the members of the surrounding communities, the wilmapco work simply seems like a prelude to all out redevelopment and rezoning of the scenic nature of the land surrounding the 141 corridor. At present, the corridor has a pleasing mix of developed and undeveloped property. Additional commercial development would place an untenable load on both the 141 corridor and the surrounding cross streets (Rt 52 and Rt100) which themselves are already over run with traffic. The problem is the bridge. Before any improvements in this corridor, You will need to solve improving the travel over this bridge. Travel along the corridor is generally very good. The exception is the Tyler McConnell Bridge and the DuPont Experimental Station light at the bridge exit. Wilmapco's vision will foster unchecked redevelopment and crowding along the Rt 141 corridor. Though the concept designs offer show a pleasing aesthetic, the reality is this plan is a method to approve unchecked development of the areas surrounding Barley Mill Plaza and to allow redevelopment of the DuPont country Club property.
