It is a remarkably versatile product which offers a choice of air-circulation for summer comfort. This Challenge fan has been designed and manufactured to high standards of engineering and with proper use and care, as described in this leaflet, this appliance will give you years of useful service. WARNING Misuse or modification of this appliance may result in breakdown or injury. To reduce the risk of fire or electric shock, do not expose this appliance to rain or moisture. This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliances by person responsible for their safety. IMPORTANT INFORMATION The appliance is intended for household use only. ASSEMBLY OF BASE & COLUMN UNIT OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS The unit comes with a remote control for use with the fan.the fan unit will emit a beep whenever it receives a signal from the remote control. I. Remote Control 1. Unscrew the L shape screw from the Extension Pole. (Fig.1) 2. Insert the extension pole in the chassis and tighten the L shape screw. (Fig.2) 3. From the extension pole loosen the height adjustment ring and adjust the internal pipe to the desired height. (Note: If you can t find the internal pole, it slides inside the extension pole.you can pull it out from the extension pole.) (Fig.3) 4. To attach the head unit to the extension pole, loosen the thumb screw on the bottom of the head unit. Place the head unit on the extension pole and tighten the thumb screw in alignment with the groove on the internal pole. (Fig.4) CAUTION: Height adjustment ring must be fully fastened before the assembly of the motor section to the extension pole. GUARD & FAN BLADE ASSEMBLY 1. Unscrew the spinner clockwise (or take the spinner out from the bag) and the plastic nut counter clockwise to remove both of them. Fix the rear guard to the motor then tighten the plastic nut again (Figure 5). 2. Insert the blade into shaft, and make sure the rotor shaft pin is fitted into groove of the blade.turn the spinner counter clockwise to tighten the blade (Figure 6) 3. Fix the front guard and the rear guard with circlip and then screw the locking screw to tighten the fan guard. (Figure7&8). 5 This key is for switching on the fan. The fan will be started at medium. After 2 seconds it will automatically over to the low step. Press this key again if the fan needs to switch off. Fig.5 Fig.6 Press the TIMER key. The TIMER light is flashing the timer dial and the first finger light are on. Each finger light represent half an hour in the time dial. The fan is delivering air/stop when the finger light is on/off. This key is touched repeatedly for selecting the timer. The timer will be increased by half an hour timely and sum to the 7.5 hours finally. The press of time slot must be in 5 seconds, otherwise the timer setting is finished automatic. The TIMER LED stop flashing after finishing the setting. When all finger lights are off, the fan will stop. Timer for ON, Must press the timer when the fan is off. Timer for OFF, Must press the timer after the fan is on. locking screw Fig.7 Fig.8 The unit is equipped with 3 speed low-medium-high settings. To change the fan speed,press the fan speed key until the desired fan speed is selected. 6

This key is a selector key for wind type. The wind type changes in the sequence from NORMAL---NATURAL---SLEEP--NORMAL---NATURAL wind when this key being touched repeatedly or kept in. The features of 3 wind types are as follows: NORMAL WIND: The fan delivers air constantly with high, medium or low speed set by the SPEED key. NATURALWIND: The fan delivers air according to the program preset in advance and simulating the natural wind. The wind variations from strong to weak or vice-versa make man a fresh and comfortable as like as an enjoyment in Mother nature. SLEEP WIND: The wind weakens step by step during the preset time until stop. And then the fan switches automatically off so that man can drop asleep. Press this key to oscillate the fan. To choose one direction, press this key when the fan is in the desired direction. Otherwise, rotate fan head by hand, the wide oscillation will be realized. 7 II. Control Panel These keys of the control panel may be used as same as of the remote controller. On Button Press this button to start the fan. Off Button Press this button to stop the fan. Speed Button Press this button for 3 speed low-midium high settings. To change the fan speed, press the button until the desired fan speed is selected, and the indicator light will illumine accordingly. Timer Button Press this button repeatedly for selecting the timer. The timer will be increased by half an hour timely and sum to the 7.5 hours finally. The timer indicator light stop flashing after finishing the setting. When all lights are off, the fan will stop. Timer for ON, Must press the timer when the fan is off. Timer for OFF, Must press the timer after the fan is on. Mode Button Press this button for wind mode. The wind mode changes in the sequence from NORMAL--NATURAL---SLEEP---NORMAL--NATURAL wind when this key being touched repeatedly or kept in. The indicator lights will illumine NORMAL, NATURAL and SLEEP mode. 8

Oscillation Button Press this key to oscillate the fan. To choose one direction, press this button when the fan is in the desired direction. Otherwise, rotate fan head by hand, the wide oscillation will be realized. III. Tilt Adjustment To adjust the air flow upward or downward, push the guards lightly to the desired direction. IV. Height Adjustment The height of the fan can be adjusted by loosening the locknut carefully raising or lowering the fan and firmly re-tightening the locknut. BATTERIES INSTRUCTIONS 1.Unclip the battery cover from romote control. 2.Insert two new 1.5V size AAA batteries (not included) with the + and marks correctly aligned. 3. Carefully close the battery cover. BATTERY WARNING 1. Do not mix different types of batteries or an old battery with a new one. 2. To prevent the risk of leakage or explosions, never recharge the batteries, apply heat or take them apart. 3. When not using batteries, remove them to prevent battery drain. 9 REMOTE CONTROL NOTE The Remote Control should be used within 6 metres of the unit. Infra-red remote controls need direct line of sight with the unit being communicating with. Ensure there are no obstructions that could block the signal. Some electrical devices can interfere with the remote control Change the position of the fan if there is interefence. Direct sunshine onto the front of the unit can interfere with signal reception. Place the fan so there is no direct sunlight on the front. CLEANING AND CARE Your fan requires little maintenance and contains no user serviceable parts. Do not attempt to dismantle the Fan Motor body or service the motor yourself. Cleaning: Always unplug the fan from the mains outlet before cleaning the appliance. The fan can be cleaned with a soft cloth. Dust on the fan can be removed by using a vacuum cleaner, ensuring that the air vents and grilles remain free from dust to prevent overheating.the body of the fan can be cleaned with a damp cloth rinsed hot soapy water. Important: Do not allow water to run into the interior of the fan, as this cause an electric shock. DRY THE FAN THOROUGHLY with a dry cloth, checking that the fan is completely dry before operating the fan. This marking indicates that this product should not be disposed with other household wastes throughout the EU. To prevent possible harm to the environment or human health from uncontrolled waste disposal, recycle it responsibly to promote the sustainable reuse of material resources. To return your used device, please use the return and collection systems or contact the retailer where the product was purchased. They can take this product for environmental safe recycling. 10

SPECIFICATIONS CONNECTION TO POWER Before switching on make sure that the voltage of your electricity supply is the same as that indicated on the rating plate. You should only plug the appliance into a 220-240V AC, 50Hz supply. Connecting it to other power sources may damage the appliance. MAIN CORD This appliance may be fitted with a non-rewireable plug. If it is necessary to change the fuse in a non-rewireable plug the fuse cover must be refitted. If the fuse cover islost or damaged, the plug must not be used until a replacement is obtained. It is important that the color of the replacement fuse cover corresponds with the colour marking on the base ofthe plug. If the plug has to be changed because it is not suitable for your socket, or becomes damaged, it should be cut off and an appropriate plug fitted following the wiring instructions below. The plug removed must be disposed of safely as insertion into a 3A socket is likely to cause an electrical hazard. For your own safety read the following instructions carefully before attempting to connect this unit to mains. BLUE = NEUTRAL BROWN = LIVE IMPORTANT As the colours of the wire in the mains lead of this appliance may not correspond with the coloured markings identifying the terminals in your plug,proceed as following: BLUE (NEUTRAL) CABLE GRIP outer sleeve BROWN (LIVE) The wire which is coloured blue must be connected to the terminal which is marked with the letter N or coloured black. The wire which is coloured brown must be connected to the terminal which is marked with the letter L or coloured red. This unit is a class II appliance. No connection is to be made to the earth terminal of the plug. If a 13 A (BS 1363) plug is used, it must be fitted with a 3 A Fuse conforming to BS1362 and be ASTA approved.
