1. GOOD AIR CIRCULATION AND UNIT ENVIRONMENT This self-contained refrigerator or freezer requires clean air for optimal cooling and refrigeration. Avoid placing refrigerator or freezer near any place which would restrict exhausted air flow. This refrigerator or freezer must be placed at least seven (7 ) inches from the back wall to which it is installed. Avoid placing unit near any heat generating equipment like counter-top gas appliances, fryers, heating heating elements, ovens, and ranges. Do not store solvents, gasoline or use flammable liquids and vapors near the vicinity of this unit. High ambient room temperature will lower the cooling efficiency of this refrigerator or freezer. A low dust environment clear from flying debris and outside moisture is optimal. This unit is designed for indoor use only. 2. INSTALLING CASTORS The castors with brakes should be installed in the front of the unit. 3. PLACE UNIT ON STABLE AND LEVEL GROUND Correct refrigerator or freezer function requires this unit to be level front to back and side to side Chosen location for this refrigerator should be capable of handling the weight of the unit as well as its contents. Location of this unit should be free of vibration and debris. Freezers and refrigeration units must be leveled when in operation. Failure to level your unit may result in doors not sealing, frost build up, and water accumulation. Operating unit unleveled will put stress on internal components. This stress will cause internal damage and or compressor malfunction. Failure to sufficiently level refrigerator or freezer could void warranty. 4. ELECTRICAL CONNECTION REQUIREMENTS All connected wiring should be in accordance with local electrical codes. Electrical data for the unit is located on the inside rating plate of the unit. It is recommended to verify voltage of the connecting outlet to ensure efficient refrigeration. A protected line correctly wired and grounded is required for the operation of this refrigerator and freezer. It is recommended to check voltages while the freezer or refrigerator is in operation. This will ensure correct voltage is being supplied to the unit. All direct connecting wiring should be of proper insulation and gauge. All electrical wiring from outlet to unit should be short in length, and near to the bottom compressor. This unit requires a single dedicated outlet only. Do not use an extension cord to power refrigerator or freezer unit Compressor warranties are void if the compressor burns out due to low voltage. If the power cord becomes damaged it must be replaced by the manufacturer or certified service agent. This will avoid a hazard and or void on unit warranty. Make sure to turn off main power switch before disconnecting power cord. Always unplug power cord before doing any maintenance or installation to this unit. 6
1. CLEANING THE INTERIOR AND EXTERIOR The interior and exterior of the unit can be cleaned using warm water with soap. Do not use abrasive cleaner on stainless steel interior and exterior Avoid using cleaners that contain chlorine. Rinse with clean water and dry with soft towel, in the direction of the grain of metal. Apply a stainless steel cleaning agent to maintain metal shine. 2. PERIODICAL CLEANING OF THE CONDENSER FINS To maintain proper refrigeration, it is recommended to clean the bottom condenser region once every three months (90 days). If the location of the refrigeration or freezer unit is near a grease laden location, it is recommended to clean it at least once a month (30 days). 1. Cleaning the condenser coil free of dust, dirt, and grease. 1. Turn off power switch 2. Disconnect power cord to unit. 2. Remove the rear grill assembly 3. Use a vacuum with the smaller nozzle, reach in and remove any dust and debris from compressor, motor-condenser and condenser fins. 4. Clean any debris that may have accumulated inside the drip pan tray. 5. In the occasion of extreme grease, using a de-greasing agent and high pressure air will blow out any grease and debris from inside the condenser fins. 6. Check the unit for any obstructing objects before closing. 7. Re-attach rear grill assembly 3. KEEP A CLEAN DOOR GASKET The door gasket should be cleaned frequently to maintain proper sealing and cooling. This will prevent condensation, frost build up, water accumulation and keeping refrigeration at optimal performance. 4. KEEP A CLEAN UNIT ENVIRONMENT Sweeping underneath and behind the unit on a daily basis will keep dust and debris from accumulating inside the refrigerator or freezer. Following this guide will ensure the life of your unit, protect your warranty and keep product safely refrigerated or frozen. 1. If this refrigerator or freezer is disconnected, wait 6 minutes before re-starting. 2. Young children should be supervised to ensure they do not play or get trapped inside unit. 7
1. The temperature controller (Thermostat) is located on the upper left of the back side of the cabinet interior. 2. The temperature controller has been preset to "NORMAL" at the factory. 3. Turn the control-knob towards "COOL" for higher temperature and "COLD" for a lower temperature. (figure.1) figure.1 4. The Thermostat controls the Compressor's ON/OFF by sensing inside temperatures. 5. The unit is equipped with an Off-Cycle Defrost (SUSS-27-8, SUSS-48-12, SUSS-60-16, SUSS-72-18, SUSS-27-12, SUSS-48-18, SUSS-60-24, SUSS-72-30, USC-27, USC-48, USC-60, USC-72) or Heating defrost cycle (USCF-28, USCF-48, USCF-60, UCSF-72). The following is not a malfunction: A water-flowing sound can be heard when the unit is operating. This is the sound of refrigerant flowing. 8
figure.2 1. INSTALLING CASTORS 1. Fully remove outside packaging and remove castors from inside unit. 2. On cardboard or wooden crossbars, slowly lower unit down on its rear back. 3. Install the castors into the four castor placement locations (figure.2) 4. Install the castors with brake at the front of the unit. 5. After installation, gently lift and place unit upright. CAUTION: Leaving unit on its rear back for long periods of time will cause refrigerant gas to shift within the cooling system. After castor installation, it is recommended to leave unit off for 8 hours to allow refrigerant to settle before start up. 9
