CONGRATULATIONS ON THE PURCHASE OF YOUR VERY OWN HELMET HEATER! What Is Infrared Heat and How Does It Work? Instead of just heating the air around you, infrared heat is very efficient and will warm any object with which it comes in contact, including your body. Infrared heat scientifically uses a shorter wave length and is able to more efficiently heat an area without drawing moisture out of the air. The result is a lower cost, safer and warmer heat source. Comfort Levels and Therapeutic Benefits of Infrared Heat The Helmet Heater is a true infrared heating system with four scientifically designed infrared heating elements. An infrared heater will heat a room evenly from floor to ceiling. This eliminates the need for ceiling fans as warm air is distributed equally throughout the space. Even rooms with high ceilings are not a problem because the room is being heated evenly. There are many other advantages of infrared heat. Foremost, infrared heat warms the body faster than other forms of heating. Infrared heat penetrates the body and energy that flows into the body is absorbed quicker. A 68 degree room heated with infrared heat will feel more like 72 degrees. This allows you to achieve energy savings by turning down your thermostat while maintaining the same comfort level. An infrared heater also sterilizes the air that passes through it. This is especially key for those who suffer from allergies. As air enters the back of your infrared heater the air is heated to a temperature of 180 to 200 degrees. This high temperature eliminates germs and other airborne pests. Since your infrared heater doesn t have any ductwork there isn t any place for bacteria, mold or dust pollen to accumulate. Most homes have heating and air conditioning sharing the same ducts. As a result, dust, bacteria, mold, germs and other contaminants collect in these ducts and can cause allergies and respiratory problems if not properly maintained. Energy Saving Benefits and Other Amenities Infrared heat waves are transferred rapidly throughout the room due to their shorter wave length. The results are impressive because it requires less energy to heat a room evenly with infrared heat than with conventional radiant heating sources. This makes the Helmet Heater one of the most cost effective and energy efficient supplemental heat sources on the market.

The infrared heating elements are designed to last about 20,000 hours. Using your heater only during the winter months, the elements should last 4 to 6 years. (Call our toll-free number for questions and concerns. The internal electronic thermostat maintains an accurate temperature at all times. Simply set your heater control to the desired comfort level and sit back and enjoy a warm, comfortable, cozy environment regardless of the temperature outside. The great look of the Helmet Heater allows you to add its aesthetic design to any room or background. With a wide range designs and logos your Helmet Heater is a welcome addition in any space. Your Infrared Helmet Heater is manufactured to meet all ISO9000 standards

WARNING Improper use of this heater could result in fire, electric shock, or injury WARNING Any required service other than maintenance should only be performed by an authorized service representative. Caution : Risk of electrical shock do not open No user-serviceable parts inside: Caution Do not cover IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE USING THE HEATER. Extreme caution is necessary when the heater is used near children, invalids or when heater is left operating and unattended. Always unplug the heater when not in use. DO NOT plug heater into any other cord-connected device, such as power strip, surge protector, multiple outlet adapter, grounding adapter, outlet-type air fresheners or extension cords. Plug into a 3-prong, 120V, 15 amp or higher grounded circuit only. DO NOT plug the heater into a loose fitting or broken outlet. DO NOT alter the heater s design; doing so will VOID the warranty. DO NOT block the front or rear of the heater. DO NOT place anything directly in front of the heater. DO NOT cover the unit as this may block airflow and cause the heater to malfunction. DO NOT use the heater outdoors or for heating construction sites. This heater is not intended for use in laundry areas or similar damp or humid indoor locations. Never locate heater where it may fall into a bathtub or water. DO NOT force the filter to dry using alternative methods; doing so could damage the filter. DO NOT run the cord under carpeting or cover cord with throw rugs, runners or similar coverings. Arrange cord away from high traffic areas. DO NOT insert or allow foreign objects to enter any ventilation or exhaust opening, as this may cause an electric shock or fire or damage the heater. Heater has hot parts; DO NOT use in areas where gasoline, paint or flammable liquids are used or stored. Heater is hot when in use. To avoid burns, DO NOT let bare skin touch hot surfaces. Use handle when moving heater. DO NOT operate any heater with a damaged cord or plug or if the heater has been dropped or damaged in any manner. Return heater to an authorized service facility for examination, electrical or mechanical adjustment, or repair. To disconnect heater, turn controls to off, then remove plug from outlet. Connect to properly grounded outlets only. Use this heater only as described in this manual. Any other use is not recommended by the manufacturer and may cause fire, electrical shock, or injury. DO NOT locate this heater below a socket outlet. If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer or its service agent or a similarly qualified person in order to avoid a hazard. SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS

SUGGESTIONS FOR BEST PERFORMANCE To use the heater most efficiently, a minimum of 30% relative humidity should be maintained. In most homes that is fairly standard. NOTE: If you are unsure of the humidity or do not have a humidifier, bring a pot of water to a boil and allow most of the water to evaporate into the air. The added humidity that is introduced to the room will allow your Helmet Heater to more effectively heat your home. If you are using your heater in a room with unfinished concrete floors position your heater no less than three (3) feet above the floor for the best results. Always make sure your heater is in a safe location where it will not fall or tip over. Place the heater in a room where the most time is spent during non-sleep hours, such as a family room, den or an office. Set the comfort level dial on the back of the heater to the desired setting. If you are using your Helmet Heater in a large open area, it is better to have the heater close to the center of the room. Using the heater in a dusty or dirty environment, the filter on the bottom of the heater should be cleaned more often than recommended. Your filter should be cleaned once per month or every two (2) weeks during high use. For best results, do not place your heater in rooms that are high air exchange. For example, if a door to the outside is opened 20 times per day and it is cold outside, place the heater in another room.

MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTIONS The most important maintenance required for your heater is to clean the filter once a month. Clean more often in dirty or dusty places. CLEANING THE ELECTROSTATIC FILTER 1. Turn off the power by pressing the power switch to OFF. 2. When the heater s fan stops (the heater will become completely silent) unplug the heater. 3. To remove the filter from the heater, turn the bottom side up and slide the filter out of the heater. (fig 1) 4. Clean the filter by vacuuming or rinse it with warm water.

DETAILED OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS TURNING POWER ON 1. Press for POWER (fig1). Adjust thermostat knob (fig3). The heater and fan begin to operate. TURNING POWER OFF 2. Press to POWER OFF (fig1). SETTING THE POWER 3. Press 1200W(HI) or 600W(LOW) to adjust high & low heat setting (fig2). FIG 1 FIG 2 SETTING THE TEMPERATURE FIG 3

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS Q: Why does my heater run after I shut it off? A: The heater fan will continue to run after the unit is turned off for approximately 4 minutes in order to cool down the inside of the heater. The heating elements heat to between 180 and 200 degrees so it is important to let your heater cool down after use. Q: Will the heater heat more than one room at a time? A: Heating will vary depending on the floor plan and size of your rooms. Placing the heater close to the center of the largest room will help improve heat efficiency and movement. Q: May I use my heater in moist or damp rooms? A: The heater will work effectively in places such as bathrooms and pool rooms. The heater is designed to work with natural humidity. Using your heater in areas with excessive moisture should be avoided. Q: Will my heater work if my room is not well insulated? A: The heater will work in places like basements and garages. The better a room is insulated, the more effective the heater will be. Remember, the heater will heat objects in the room and not the air itself. An uninsulated room wall may absorb much of the heat making the heater less effective. Q: Can I use more than one heater in a room? A: Yes. If you are heating a large area more than one heater may be used. Each heater is rated at 10 AMPS so each heater must be plugged in to an independent outlet on 15 AMP or greater circuit. Q: Why is my heater not blowing as hard as before? A: Make sure the filter on the bottom of the heater is clean and free of debris. Make sure the heater is not too close to a wall or furniture that would obstruct airflow.
