FELIX STORCH, INC. SUMMIT APPLIANCE DIVISION INSTRUCTION MANUAL FOR MODELS: FS60-FROST Thank you for putting your trust in our company and for purchasing this appliance. We hope it will successfully serve its purpose for many years. The FS60-FROST is a front opening freezer that maintains a -24 F temperature. The open shelves and in-door storage system hold over 100 cans of beer. All-Freezer

Before Putting Into Use Before connecting the beer froster to the power supply, leave it standing for about 24 hours. This will reduce the possibility of malfunctions in the cooling system due to transport handling. Clean the beer froster thoroughly; especially in the interior (See Cleaning and Maintenance). We Care for the Environment Our appliances are distributed in packaging made of environmental friendly material which could safely be recycled, disposed of or destroyed without any effects on the environment whatsoever. Our instruction manuals are printed either on recycled paper or chlorine free bleached paper. Tips for Energy Savings Once you open the door try to close it as soon as possible. Every now and then check if the beer froster is sufficiently ventilated with adequate space behind the unit. The coils on the rear of the beer froster should be cleaned and free of dust or any other impurities. Ice and frost layer increase energy consumption, so do clean the appliance as soon as the layer is 1/8 thick. Always consider instructions stated in sections Positioning and Energy Saving Tips, otherwise the energy consumption is substantially higher.

Important Warning! To reduce the risk of fire, electrical shock, or injury when using your appliance, follow these basic precautions. Read all instructions before using the appliance The appliance must be correctly connected to the power supply. Disconnect the appliance from the power supply before repairing and/or cleaning it (only a qualified technician should repair it). Use only enclosed tools or tools recommended by the manufacturer. For the sake of environmental protection be careful not to damage the rear wall of the appliance (the condenser unit or the tubes when moving the refrigerator) or any part of the freezing system inside the appliance. Use only enclosed tools or tools recommended by the manufacturer. DANGER: Risk of child entrapment. Before throwing away your old beer froster please remove the doors and leave the shelves in place so that children may not easily climb inside. The rating plate is inside the appliance or outside on the rear wall. Disposing of the Worn Out Appliance When your beer froster finally wears out, dispose of it. Remove the door in order to prevent child entrapment.

Placing and Installation Choosing the Right Place Place the beer froster in a dry and regularly ventilated room. Allowed ambient temperature depends on the model (class) of the appliance and is stated on the rating plate of the appliance. Class Ambient Temperature SN (sub-normal) from + 56 F to + 90 F N (normal) from + 62 F to + 90 F ST (sub-tropical) from + 64 F to +100 F T (tropical) from + 64 F to +120 F The beer froster may be exposed to lower or higher temperatures but only for shorter period of time and the temperature should never be lower than 41 F. Never place the beer froster near heat emitting devices (e.g. cooker, radiator) Do not place the beer froster in direct sunlight. The appliance should be positioned at least 1 ½ away from a electric or gas cooker and at least 12 away from a oil or coal stove. If this isn t possible use an appropriate insulation. Behind the beer froster there should be free space of at least 30 sq. in. and above there should at least 1 ½ in order to assure adequate ventilation of the condenser unit. Placing the Self-Standing Appliance It is important to make sure the beer froster is leveled evenly to prevent falling. Two spacers attached to the beer froster must be fitted onto the upper edge of the condenser, thus preventing the appliance from being installed too close to the wall. Spacers are manufactured for all-purpose functions depending on the distance of the condenser from the wall. Therefore turn the spacers correspondingly and adjust them accordingly. Connection to Power Supply Connect the beer froster using the 3 prong plug to the grounded power supply outlet. DO NOT USE AN EXTENSION CORD. Required nominal voltage (120 volts) and frequency (60 Hertz) are indicated on the rating plate. The connection to the power supply and grounding has to be made according to current standards and regulations. The appliance resists temporary voltage tolerance up to -15 to 10%.

Description of the Beer Froster Door Hinge Right hand only Shelves The shelves are fixed. Forget what you know about cold beer, Summit Appliance has just changed everything. With the Summit Cold Cavern you get beer so cold the bottle literally frosts over when removed from the unit! How cold is it? The Cold Cavern stores your beer at a frigid 24 F, just before freezing, in order to give you the coldest crispest beer possible. Taste tests by a leading beer manufacturer revealed an overwhelming majority of beer drinkers prefer beer served at colder temperatures. This also means beer stays colder longer so you can relax and enjoy your beer without worrying about it getting warm. Treat your guests to the same quality and extravagance previously only available at upscale lounges and resorts. The Cold Cavern offers the ultimate in home entertainment with an ultra cool experience like never before. Its chill factor offers refreshment with a touch of sophistication for you and your guests. Customize the unit to meet your desired temperature with the front mounted digital thermostat. Fits up to 120 aluminum bottles, extra space on the door shelves for cans. Operation Control Temperature Selection The beer froster can be set at warmer temperatures if that is desired. Some brands of beer may taste better at slightly warmer temperatures. Digital Thermostat Instructions If you find that it is necessary to change the temperature setting for your digital thermostat controlled refrigerator, please refer to the following instructions. The front panel of the thermostat is illustrated here: melting snowflake snowflake Up & Down arrows SET key To see the SETPOINT: Push and immediately release the SET key -the display will show the SET point value. Wait 5 seconds and the probe value will display again. To change the SETPOINT: Push and hold the SET key for more then 2 seconds to change the set point value; The value of the set point will be displayed, and the snowflake LED will start blinking. To change the SET value: Push the up or down arrows to the desired setting; The new setting will be memorized after 15 seconds, provided no other keys are pushed.

Maintenance and Cleaning Manual Defrosting of the All-Freezer When the frost and ice layer in the freezer is 1/8 thick you should clean the beer froster. First, unplug the unit Second, set the thermostat to room temperature. Third, sop up the water with a towel as the ice melts. Fourth, dry the walls and bottom with a towel. Fifth, reset the thermostat to 24 F. and plug in the unit. Cleaning the Appliance Disconnect the power supply before cleaning the beer froster. Do not use coarse or aggressive cleaning agents as you can damage the surface. Clean the exterior with water and detergent. You may also use alcohol (ethanol or isopropyl alcohol). The application of abrasive and especially aggressive cleaners, such as stainless steel cleaners, is not appropriate for the cleaning of plastic and coated parts. Remove the detachable accessories in the interior of the beer froster and clean it with water and liquid detergent. Plastic parts cannot be washed in a washing machine. Wash the interior of the beer froster with lukewarm water, in which you add one or two spoonfuls of vinegar. Every now and then wipe the condenser on the rear wall. Use a soft nonmetal brush or vacuum cleaner. Do not forget to clean the defrost water receptacle above the beer froster compressor (do not remove the receptacle). After cleaning, connect the appliance to the power supply and reload the beer. Clean the drain pan on the beer froster compressor, but do not remove the drain pan. After Cleaning, connect the beer froster into the power supply and reload the beer.

Switch Off the Beer Froster When Not in Use If you do not intend to use the beer froster for a long period of time disconnect the power supply. Then take out the beer and defrost and clean the appliance. Leave the door slightly open. Trouble-Shooting Guide During the service of your beer froster, you can come across some troubles that in most cases result from improper handling of the appliance that can easily be eliminated. The Beer Froster Fails to Operate After Connecting to the Power Supply Check the supply in the outlet socket Continuous Operation of the Refrigerating System The door was frequently opened or it was left open too long. The door is not properly closed (the door may sag; the gasket may be polluted or damaged). Perhaps you have overloaded the beer froster with too many cans of beer. The reason may be inadequate ventilation of the compressor and condenser (assures adequate air circulation and wipe off the condenser). Ice Formation on the Inner Rear Wall In case the ice formation on the inner back wall is increased (1/8 ), ice should be manually defrosted. Unplug the unit and leave the door open. Never use electric devices for defrosting and do not scrape the ice or frost layer with sharp objects. Close the refrigerator door and plug in the unit

Noise Cooling in the beer froster is enabled by the compressor, this produces noise. How noisy the appliance is depends on where it is placed, how it s used and how old the appliance is. After starting the beer froster, the operation of the compressor may be louder and this does not mean something is wrong with the appliance. The noise will reduce gradually, this will not affect the lifetime of the appliance. Sometimes unusual and strong noises occur which is rather unusual for the appliance. This noise is often a consequence of inadequate placing. To avoid the noise make sure the beer froster is placed and leveled firmly on a solid base. Make sure the appliance is not touching the wall or kitchen units standing next to it BEFORE CALLING FOR SERVICE Check the plug and fuse/circuit breaker. Test the outlet with a lamp Be sure the thermostat is not set too high Read the manual, especially the items under the Use and Care sections. You may find the answer to your questions. If you don t find the answer to your questions in this manual, find the unit model number, FS60FROST, (on the upper back of the refrigerator) and contact your Summit Appliance Dealer. WARNING!
