More and More States are Banning Products Containing Mercury Across the nation, states are passing legislation affecting the use and sale of products containing mercury The majority of these laws focus on thermometers, thermostats, butn cell batteries, high intensity discharge lamps and aumotive switches. They also will apply boiler controls with mercury switches. Seven States Have Current Legislation Banning the Sale or Distribution of Mercury Products: Connecticut, Rhode Island, California, Maine, Vermont, Illinois and New York Regulary Compliance: At the end of the usable life of Series 0 and products, or prior major boiler replacement, or building demolition, the mercury switches in these products must be removed and recycled in accordance with Local, State and Federal Regulations so that mercury does not find its way in the environment. If not removed, the entire product must be managed as a mercury-containing solid waste. Do not put in the trash. For a list of mercury recyclers, refer the following internet sites: www.des.state.nh.us/nhppp/options.htm www.nema.org/lamprecycle With an increasing number of states enacting mercury reduction laws, please refer individual state statutes or contact the states Departments of Environmental Protection determine specific requirements. NEW Solid State Flame Detecrs By Honeywell! CE/F Ultraviolet Flame Detecr CE/F Dynamic Self-Check Ultraviolet Flame Detecr Dynamic Self-checking Flame Detecrs For Sensing The Ultraviolet Radiation Generated By The Combustion Of Gas, Oil, Or Other Fuels. The C0E/F and C0A/F dynamic self-check ultraviolet flame detecrs are widely used for ultraviolet flame detection for gas, oil, or other fuels. New technology has made it possible for Honeywell develop a dynamic self-check ultraviolet flame detecr using solid state technology. The CE/F Dynamic Self-Check Ultraviolet Flame Detecr has been developed for use with the RC0 Dynamic Self-Check Amplifier. PRODUCT DESCRIPTION The CE/F Dynamic Self-Check Ultraviolet Flame Detecr and the RC Dynamic Self-Check Amplifier are used for sensing the ultraviolet radiation emitted by the combustion of gas, oil and other fuels. The CE/F is a functional replacement for the C0 and Co Dynamic Self-Check Ultraviolet Flame Detecrs. The CE/F Dynamic Self-Check Flame Detecr and the RC Dynamic Self-Check Amplifier are designed operate as a system with the 00 SERIES Controls. Some of the benefits over other UV Flame Detection Systems include: The C sense steady radiation in the 0 00 nm spectrum. It rejects hot refracry up 00 degrees F. Does not respond x-raying if process requires routine x-ray testing of piping. UV solid state technology with a shutter meeting code criteria Can work with some hard sight fuels where the C0 or C0 has problems. UV sensitivity range closer the visible light spectrum. C Solid State Ultraviolet Flame Detecr The Solid State Ultraviolet Optical Flame Detecrs detect the ultraviolet radiation emitted by combustion flames. The flame detecrs are used with Honeywell flame safeguard controls provide flame supervision for gas, oil, or combination gas-oil burners. Features: Properly installed the flame detecrs are pressure rated for psi. Flame detecr is used with only the RB Flame Amplifier and the 00 SERIES controls. Has an integral collar threaded (internal /- NPSM) for mounting on a one-hold inch sight pipe. INTERSTATE HVAC CONTROLS 0 Vineland Street, Brighn, MA 0 Tel: --000 Fax: -- www.interstatecontrols.com

Tear Here For modular boilers, each module shall have a pressure control that will shut off the fuel supply when the steam pressure reaches a preset operating pressure. For modular boilers, each module shall have at least one temperature actuated control shut off the fuel supply when the system water reaches a preset operating temperature. The assembled modular boiler shall have a high steam pressure limit control that will prevent the generation of steam pressure in excess of the maximum allowable working pressure. The assembled modular hot water boiler shall have a high temperature limit control that will prevent the water temperature from exceeding the maximum allowable temperature. for direct ignition systems. For low pressure steam units with inputs of 00,000 Btu/h or less, only one low-water fuel cuff is required in gravity return units installed in residences as defined by the authority having jurisdiction. For modular low pressure steam boilers, each module shall be equipped with an aumatic low-water fuel cuff. The assembled modular boiler shall have a second low-water fuel cuff. Operation of this low-water fuel cuff shall shut off the fuel supply all modules. Except those installed in residences (as defined by the authority having jurisdiction). An assembled modular boiler shall be protected by a low-water fuel cuff located so that it will detect a low-water condition before the level falls below the lowest safe waterline in any module. Operation of the low-water fuel cuff shall shut off the fuel all modules. In lieu of the requirements for low-water fuel cuffs in a water tube or coil-type boiler requiring forced circulation, they shall have an accepted sensing device prevent burner operation at a flow rate inadequate protect the boiler from overheating. Where there is a definitive waterline, a low-water fuel cuff shall be provided in addition the sensing device. Functioning of the low-water fuel cuff shall cause safety shutdown.
