IT SHOULD NOT BE WASHED 3 When vacuuming fabrics such as upholstery or curtains, open the slider on the hose hand grip. This will reduce the amount of suction. 4 The blue filter can be removed for washing. Dry it thoroughly before re-fitting it. 5 Wash out the grey filter whenever you change the white filter (see picture 2). Dry it thoroughly before re-fitting it. 6 Use the stair hose for stairs. You can leave your Luna at the bottom of a flight of up to 15 stairs. GETTING READY TO WASH cover cup plug blue filter cage 6 1 Always vacuum before you wash. Remove the dustbag, but leave the blue filter cage in position. 2 Carefully replace the water inlet hose. 3 Always stand the upper body on its end. This will avoid the water inlet hose from being squashed. 4 For carpet washing, use Vax AAA machine carpet cleaner. Add 3 capfuls of AAA and fill tank with hand hot water (max 40ºC). For hard floor washing (Luna 1400 only) use Vax Multi Hard Floor Cleaner. Read the bottle carefully 5 Place the washing solution tank in the Luna. It slots into its correct position. Make sure the blue filter cage is fitted securely. 6 Fit the upper body. Make sure the water inlet hose goes into the hole in the tank. The cover cup should be at the top of the hose.

Rinse it out and replace it.

SUCKING UP SPILLS 11 1 Remove the dustbag, leaving the blue filter cage in place. 2 Fit the crevice tool or the Carpet Washer, depending on the size of the spill. You DO NOT have to fit the Quick Click tube. 3 Switch ON. 4 Suck up the spill. You can suck up as much as 10 litres. That s about half a normal bucket full. 5 Rinse out the lower body of the Luna with clean warm water. Make sure it is thoroughly dry before putting the dust bag back in for vacuuming. Remove the blue filter cage and rinse thoroughly. 6 Make sure it is thoroughly dry before putting the dust bag back in for vacuuming. See page 3, picture 5 and 6. Replace the blue filter cage. HOW TO KEEP LUNA HAPPY Cover legs of furniture with cling film or aluminium foil. This will stop them staining a wet carpet. If the carpet is very dirty, open the slider cover on the handle grip when washing. Remember to close it when sucking up surplus washing solution. Don t use too much water when cleaning. If you use lots, it takes a long time to suck up and a long time to dry out. The first thing to check if Luna doesn t work is the power cable. Is Luna plugged in and switched on? Is the fuse OK? Plug in another appliance to check. If Luna goes off while washing, an excessive amount of foam inside may have caused it. Check that you have used VAX cleaner or an approved non-foaming cleaner. 12 Remove furniture, whenever possible, before washing. Start washing from the furthest point in the room from the door. Move backwards towards the door. Luna will stop working when it is full of dirty water. Turn off and empty before continuing with your washing. Whenever possible, use VAX cleaning solutions, they are made specially for Luna. When you push in the hose make sure it fixes securely, by twisting as you push.
