Green Cleaning: Green cleaning refers to using cleaning methods and products with environmentally friendly ingredients designed to preserve human health and environmental quality. Federal agencies are directed by federal laws, regulations and executive orders to make purchasing decisions with the environment in mind. EPA created the Environmentally Preferable Purchasing Program in 1993 to help federal officials meet these requirements. Most recently, these requirements have included Executive Order 13514 - Federal Leadership in Environmental, Energy and Economic Performance, which orders federal agencies to use sustainable practices when buying products and services.
