HyProCoat 330 HyPro System HyProCoat 330 is an organo-mineral finish designed to protect passivated zinc components from severe environments, such as the engine compartments and exterior of motorized vehicles. HyProCoat 330 can withstand repeated heating to 400 F and still retain its protective properties. HyProCoat 330 is also resistant to abrasion, scratching, and mechanical strain. Double counterflow rinse. 3. Activate the work using 1.0% Pavco s Zinc Dip Liquid; dip time of 20 seconds. Zinc Dip Liquid is absolutely necessary for a consistent chromate conversion coating. 4. Rinse. 5. Passivate the work with a HyPro process. 6. Rinse. Maintain a minimum ph of 4 in the rinse and drain the work well to minimize drag in. 7. Seal with HyProCoat 330. The ph must not drop below 8. Use product to adjust the ph. If product isn t sufficient, contact your Pavco rep for alternative ph adjustment chemistries. 8. Drain the work of excess solution. 9. Dry the work thoroughly. When drying in a heated spin dryer, the speed of the spin dryer should not exceed 400 rpm for a 10 diameter basket, 200 rpm for a 20 diameter basket, and 133 rpm for a 30 diameter basket. Check with local authorities. Mechanical agitation is mandatory. Filtration using 50-150 micron media is mandatory. Bath Makeup per 100 gallons (378 L): 1. Fill the process tank with 50 gallons (200 L) of water. 2. Add 30 gallons (113 L) of HyProCoat 330. 3. Add water to the 100 gallon (378 L) level. 4. Begin filtration. Solution maintenance: Maintain the optimum concentration and ph by making small, frequent additions of HyProCoat 330. Bath concentration should be checked regularly by refractive Index (RI), specific gravity (SG), or for best accuracy, using oven dry method for dry residue. ph should be maintained at >8 with additions of HyProCoat 330.
% v/v HyPro TM Coat 330 3 Analytical Procedures: Concentration using oven dry method: 1. Measure the specific gravity SPG (ρ) of the working bath. 2. Weigh a clean aluminum dish or watch glass (W1). 3. Add 3 ml of HyProCoat 330 bath solution and re-weigh (W2). 4. Dry in oven for 2 hours at 248 o F (120 o C). 5. Cool and re-weigh (W3). Calculation: % v/v HyProCoat 330 = {(W3-W1)/(W2-W1) x (100/14.9)} x 100 x (ρ/1.07) Concentration using refractometer: Measure the refractive index (RI) of HyProCoat 330 using a Leica 1FT 10HP refractometer or equivalent, and use the chart below to determine concentration. Safety: Handling Pavco mandates that the following safety equipment be used when handling chemicals in an electroplating environment: safety glasses, face shield, plastic or rubber apron, rubber gloves and safety shoes. Chemicals should only be handled by trained and experienced personnel. Storage Store Pavco products in a clean, well ventilated room which temperature remains above 45 F (7 C). Pavco products should remain in their original container with the lid or cap tightened. Drum pumps or pails must be clean prior to dispensing Pavco products to prevent contamination. HyProCoat 330 is damaged if frozen during shipping or storage. Emergency Procedures Refer to the MSDS for detailed emergency procedures. Eye Contact Seek immediate medical attention. Flush the eyes with water for 15 minutes. Skin Contact Remove all contaminated clothing. Wash the skin with soap and water. Seek medical attention. Inhalation Remove the person to an area with fresh air. Seek medical attention if necessary. Ingestion Seek immediate medical attention. Spill Dike the area to contain the spill.
