Industrial heating by radiation has existed since the 1930s. Today, it is considered the ideal technology for various applications. Vulcan infrared emitters are often used in industrial applications in thermoforming machines packing machines textile printing machines for drying, enamelling, shrinking and countless other applications. Special advantages The special advantages of Vulcan infrared and quartz emitters are in the fast, non-contact heat exchange with the product to be heated. The reaction times of infrared heaters are short. There are no long waits. Air movements are unnecessary for transporting the energy; the environment is not harmed by any contaminated air. Infrared emitters produce safe and clean heat. Ceramic emitters in different sizes. Ceramic emitters in insulated version. Quartz-infrared emitters. IR1/09
Exchangeability The emitters offered by heatsystems are compatible with the usual emitters available on the market. External dimensions as well as the nominal capacity and fastening possibilities correspond to the common versions. Service heatsystems has extensive stocks of all common components. These parts can be dispatched very quickly or prepared for collection by means of a computeraided system specially adapted to the requirements. heatsystems will be glad to advise you about the ideal heating for your special requirements. In addition to the emitter elements, the delivery program includes: temperature-resistant connecting wires ceramic terminals fastening systems reflectors modular cassettes for several emitters CERAMIC INFRARED EMITTER Design The ceramic infrared emitter is produced based on a special ceramic. This ceramic is optimally suited to both the requirements of the electric insulation of the heat generating resistor wire and the heat dissipation. The surface of the emitter is glazed. This increases the effectiveness of the radiation and protects the resistor wire against corrosion and ambient influences. Life endurance At a utilization of 80 % of the nominal capacity, a life endurance of approximately 10,000 hours is to be expected. Homogeneous temperature distribution When the emitter has reached its operating temperature there is a homogeneous temperature distribution over the entire emitter surface. The surface to be heated is also heated homogeneously as a result. Operating temperature The operating temperatures in different emitter types result from the surface loads. The following typical operating temperatures are related to the V 1 type (standard type, size 245 x 60 mm): 250 Watt: 300 C; 500 Watt: 450 C; 750 Watt: 530 C; 1.000 Watt: 640 C. Versions Ceramic infrared emitters are available in nine different standard dimensions and for nominal voltages between 110 and 480 V AC. It is possible to install a thermocouple type J (Fe-CuNi) or type K (Ni-CrNi) for temperature measurement. We will be glad to make you an offer for a ceramic infrared emitter tailor made for your individual application. IR2/09

The heat is radiated by the quartz tube. The quartz tubes are installed in a specially developed metal reflector. This reflector helps to ensure that maximum heat is radiated in the direction of the product to be heated. Dimensions 248 x 62 mm 123 x 62 mm Nominal voltages between 110 and 250 Volt AC are available. The following standard versions have established themselves on the market Voltage 230 Volt AC 300 Watt 150 Watt 400 Watt 200 Watt 500 Watt 250 Watt 600 Watt 300 Watt 750 Watt 375 Watt Voltage 200 Volt AC 400 Watt 200 Watt 600 Watt The emitters designed for a voltage of 200 Volt AC achieve an approx. 32 % higher capacity at a nominal voltage of 230 Volt AC. To avoid damage, we urgently recommend you to provide a temperature control for these versions. Temperature controls adapted to the special requirements of quartz-infrared emitters are included in the heatsystems delivery program. Just ask. We will be glad to make you an offer for quartz-infrared emitters and accessories tailor made for your individual application. IR3/09
Large Area Infrared Emitters In the version shown here, large area infrared emitters are used as an additional heating for calenders. The energy introduced into the foil by the calender rollers is often insufficient for heating, especially for thick foils. This problem is solved by the heatsystems large area infrared emitter. Special product features are: solid structure for industrial use weight approx. 20 kg per module easy handling by enclosed fastening elements three separately controlled heating zones to achieve even heating of the foil Large area infrared emitter as calender heater.
