invent 2 - Intelligent Natural Ventilation Control System The Monodraught invent 2 system is a natural ventilation management system for up to 4 zones, each consisting of up to 3 WINDCATCHER or SOLA-BOOST natural ventilation systems. It utilises seasonally adjusted proportional control based on internal temperature and CO2. With configurable sensor, strategy, and actuator mapping via USB, as well as built in data logging, the invent 2 system can control natural ventilation systems to suit any building application. This night time cooling mode pre-cools the space ready for the next day and can reduce the peak temperature for the following day. ActivLouvre Monodraught patented ACTIVLOUVRE modulating aerofoil louvre technology. The system consists of an external static louvre and internal active louvre arrangement, which varies the opening and free area through the louvre face. The variable louvres can provide maximum ventilation rates when fully open or modulated to vary weather resistance or closed to prevent the ingress of precipitation. If the external temperature is less than 8 C and the rain sensor activates, the system enters snow mode and closes the louvres. In addition, if required, dampers can be set to close when the internal temperature is at least 25 C and the external temperature is at least 5 C above the internal temperature in order to prevent a space from heating up due to higher outside air temperatures (i.e. 30 C outside, 25 C inside) Rain Detection The system will ignore temperature and CO 2 control and fully close the louvres immediately on rain. Higher priorities should be actioned (override and fire, etc.) Heating Interlock With regard to the heating, when the heating interlock is activated the Monodraught systems will close to 10% open. Maintenance Instructions: SOLA-BOOST X-Air natural ventilation systems: The systems are mounted at roof level and any cleaning or maintenance can only be achieved by use of specialist equipment and safety harness to gain access to the roof surface if necessary. Attention should however be paid to the active louvres annually to ensure that none of the louvres are obstructed by leaves or debris. Inspect the systems to ensure they are structurally sound and free from damage. Should the unit be inaccessible via the roof the louvres can be cleaned using compressed air with an air lance fitted with a swan neck type adaptor. If necessary they can be washed down with warm soapy water three-monthly or sixmonthly. Motorised damper assemblies and eggcrate / linear bar / 4-way diffuser grilles: The internal damper assemblies and eggcrate grilles should be kept free of dust and debris and should be periodically checked. A vacuum cleaner hose with a bristle head attachment can be used to remove any build-up on the eggcrate grille at ceiling level. Access to the motorised damper assembly can be gained by removing the eggcrate grille. The damper blades, the blade seals and the inside of the damper frame should be wiped down with a damp cloth to remove any dirt or debris. Please note, to avoid damaging the damper gears, please do not use excessive force or pressure on the blades during cleaning. The damper end seals against the internal damper frame can be kept clear of any dust trapped in them using a vacuum cleaner hose with a bristle head attachment. Access to the Solar-powered fan can be gained by removing the eggcrate grille and damper assembly. The fan should be kept clear of any dust and debris again, by using a vacuum cleaner hose attachment. The operation of the motorised damper assemblies should be checked in accordance with the controls strategy (as attached). Halifax House, High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire, HP12 3SE 16
