Grain temperature monitoring system Monitoring the temperature inside grain silos is the most important measure to assure the storage quality. EviKontroll Silo fully automatic temperature monitoring system is the unique solution for preventing damages in the grain stores. EviKontroll Silo gives you the ability to read current and past temperature readings and trends, generate reports and view easy to read graphs. The system provides user configurable alarms in the case of dangerous heat activity. Temperature measurement cable The extra strong steel wire armoured temperature measurement cable is developed for reliable temperature measurement in grain storages. Features Digital sensors with sequence detection Up to 30 measurement points in one cable High measurement resolution and accuracy Wide measurement range For silos up to 30 m height Construction EviKontroll Silo temperature measurement cable includes one sensor per meter as a standard. This results in better space resolution and earlier detection of dangerous temperature rise. The temperature sensors are attached to the inner cable, which is inserted into the protection tube and can be replaced without dismounting the cable. The total length and number of sensors in the cable are specified by the customer, depending on silo type and dimensions. The steel wire armoured (SWA) protection tube is specifically designed for temperature measurement in silos and grain bins. The ends of the measurement cable have special compression gland anchors for fixing cables in silos and grain bins. The typical installation method is vertical suspension from silo roof or ceiling, using mounting plates or hings. Tensile load diagram for temperature cables The suspension method of measuring cables in the bin depends on the silo structure and the strength of the roof or ceiling. This can be easily done, as the cables are provided with anchoring bushing at the bottom of the cable.
Control unit The EviKontroll Silo miniature control unit collects and stores measurement data from up to 500 digital sensors. The robust control unit is intended to operate outdoors and is usually installed directly on the silo roof. All the measurement data, collected by the control unit, is sent either through wired internet link or by optional GPRS modem to the EviKontroll Web server, where it is easily accessible from anywhere in the world using Web browser or Smartphone. When local monitoring is needed, it is possible to get the data from the control unit via EIA485 interface and display it on Human-Machine Interface (HMI) touch-screen panel computer, located in the operator room nearby. In some cases when is not possible or desirable to use long cable connection, the EviKontroll wireless radio link, based on ZigBee technology, may be used to extend EIA485 line. Each cable has IP67 rated M12 connector, ensuring watertight connection, fast and easy wiring. Bus cables Connections between control units, modem and HMI panel in EIA485 network and between control unit and sensor cables in MicroLAN network require 4-wire lines for data and power supply. Communication interfaces As a standard, two different interfaces are used. MicroLAN 1-wire interface is implemented for communication with sensor cables and EIA485 interface for communication with other control units, HMI panels and GSM modem. Recommendations For installation we recommend to use 2 2 0.5 twisted pair data cable, like CAT5/6. When it is not possible or convenient to install long cables for EIA485 communication, EviKontroll wireless radio link may be used for up to 1 km line-sight distance.
GSM/GPRS Modem EviKontroll Silo GSM/GPRS modem collects measurement data from control units and sends the data to the dedicated EviKontroll Web server. In alarm situations when temperature rise is detected, SMS messages are sent to the predetermined phone numbers in alarm situations.
