INTRODUCTION Morgan+Pollard Landscape Architecture (MPLA) are delighted to have the opportunity to introduce our company and offer our services to you. The Morgan and Pollard group was established in 1969 by Roger Pollard and Alan Morgan, and has grown considerably over the years to become one of the largest design - build companies in the south island today. It is family owned and operated business with offices based in Christchurch at 340 Halswell Junction road and 308 Trents road. The company is made of up of several divisions, collectively offering a comprehensive range of landscape services from landscape architecture through to landscape construction and maintenance. EXPERIENCE With over 40 years experience in the landscape industry, Morgan and Pollard have developed a strong reputation as a market leader in delivering landscape design projects to a high standard, from initial sketches through to the completed built form. Over the years, the Landscape Architecture division has delivered a number of challenging and exciting landscape design projects, including healthcare facilities, large-scale subdivisions, retirement villages, schools, parks and reserves, high-end residential and commercial design. Our impressive portfolio of work spans nation-wide in both rural and urban settings. Our team have an intricate understanding and knowledge of the New Zealand environment developed through years of experience, research and continued professional development. SERVICES Morgan + Pollard Landscape Architecture (MPLA) provides landscape design expertise for a diverse range of project types, and offer the following core services: -On-site consultations -Landscape Design (both public and private sectors) -Master Planning -Construction documentation -Contract administration -Management plans -Environmental Planning Many of our landscape designs are implemented by our landscape construction division. MPLA also prepares landscape and visual assessments for accompanying Resource Consent Applications, including the preparation of accurate 3d visualisations. We are experienced expert witnesses at Council Hearings. MPLA is a member of the New Zealand Institute of Landscape Architecture (NZILA) and promotes the appropriate and sustainable protection, planning, design, intervention and management of our landscapes. PERSONNEL MPLA have an experienced team of talented people, which offer a range of skills and experience. Roger Pollard Founding Director, Principal Consultant Roger has been involved in the Landscape industry for over 45 years. He established Morgan+Pollard Landscapes in 1969 with his business partner Alan Morgan. Roger was the principal designer as the company evolved and has a wealth of knowledge on landscape matters from design through to construction and maintenance. Roger is the principal consultant on high-profile projects, he formulates the initial design vision, establishes development schedules and coordinates the links between the designed and built phase of projects. Roger is highly skilled in running landscape contracts, working to tight budgets and problem solving to achieve quality results. Charlotte Cameron Senior Landscape Architect, BLA (hons), NZILA Member Charlotte has 7 years of industry experience both within NZ and abroad in the UK and Australia. During this time she has worked on a number of projects, from small scale residential to subdivision master planning, and public realm. She has a unique understanding and appreciation of the role of a landscape architect on the environment which stems from her rural upbringing and her wide travel experience. She is passionate about the environment and extremely dedicated to the landscape profession where as an NZILA member she constantly seeks to achieve high quality innovative and creative design outcomes for each project she undertakes. Charlotte is experienced in all facets of the design process, from concept to completion. She is highly skilled and proficient in CAD design and graphic presentation, preparation of concept plans, detailed drawings and technical specifications. Alan Cutler Senior Landscape Architect, BLA (hons), Registered NZILA Member Alan has been practicing as a landscape architect for over twenty five years. In 1998 Alan attained Associate Member status of the New Zealand Institute of Landscape Architects (NZILA) and up until 2011 he was a member of NZILA. Alan has been involved with urban, peri-urban, rural and natural area landscape design and planning projects throughout New Zealand. Alan has considerable experience working in local and regional authorities and Government departments. Alan s experience enables a diverse range of projects to be comprehensively planned, designed, contracted and completed to a high standard. Alan s strengths include project coordination and the management of time and costs. Jon Skurr Senior Landscape Architect, BLA (hons), NZILA Member Jon has recently joined the MPLA team, bringing a wealth of knowledge in commercial design and healthcare facilities with over 8 years professional experience. He is well versed in the design process, having designed, documented and project managed a number of retirement villages, resthomes and healthcare related projects throughout New Zealand. Jons strong personable skills allow him to relate easily to his clients and communicate ideas with confidence. He is skilled in concept design, 2D & 3D CAD design, detailed drawings and technical specifications. page 5
ASSOCIATED PERSONNEL MPLA have access to a wider network of resources through close relationships formed with associated companies. We often work collaboratively with the following personnel to offer additional services to our clients Emma Pollard Managing Director, 3D Visualisation Specialist, Dip CAD Emma has over 11 years experience in the 3D visualisation industry. Before setting up Virtual View Ltd in 2004 (formally Morgan+Pollard Visual), Emma worked for an established 3D visualisation firm as a project manager and 3D modeler. Emma has prepared simulations for a broad range of projects including large-scale infrastructure projects, comprehensive architectural developments and intricate landscape architectural projects. Emma is an experienced expert witness at Council Hearings and the Environment Court. Jason Blair Job Manager, 3D Visualisation Specialist, Dip ARCH Jason has over 9 years experience in the 3D visualisation industry. He has worked for Virtual View for the past 5 years. Jason s strength is in his project management of complex 3D simulations for large-scale projects and his knowledge of computer systems and software. page 6
ASSOCIATED PERSONNEL Adam Pollard Managing director (Morgan and Pollard Landscapes) Adam completed an apprenticeship in carpentry with C.S. Luney construction, achieving trade certificate and advanced trade in carpentry. After spending 5 years with CS Lunney Ltd he was offered a position of landscape construction foreman with Morgan and Pollard Landscapes Ltd. In 1994 Adam started his own building business, specializing in new homes and alterations. He re- joined Morgan and Pollard Landscapes Ltd in 1996 as the Contracts Manager. On the retirement of co -founder Alan Morgan, Morgan+Pollard Group became wholly owned by the Pollard family and in 2003 Adam was appointed Managing Director of Morgan and Pollard Landscapes Ltd. During this time he has achieved a New Zealand Certificate in Horticulture (landscape) level 4. Adam has served on the Landscape Industries Association of New Zealand executive committee since 2002 being Vice President for the last year. He has also been board member of the Horticulture Industry Training Organisation since 2003 and has been Chairman for the last two years. The HITO looks after the training of apprentices through out the Horticulture sectors from floristry to arboriculture. page 7
