LITO 07 NATIONAL FOREWORD This Indian Standard (Fifth Revision) which is identical with IEC 60065 : 2014 'Audio, video and similar electronic apparatus - Safety requirements' issued by the International electrotechnical Commission (IEC) was adopted by the Bureau of Indian Standards on the recommendation of the Audio, Video and Multimedia Systems and Equipments Sectional Committee and approval of the Electronics and Information Technology Division Council. This standard was first published in 1957 and subsequently revised in 1981, 1986, 2003 and 2010. The fifth revision of this standard is being done to bring it in line with the latest edition of IEC 60065 : 2014. The text of ISO/IEC Standard has been approved as suitable for publication as an Indian Standard without deviations. Certain conventions are, however, not identical to those used in Indian Standards.
