SAFETY PRECAUTI CAUTIS RELATED TO NEW REFRIERANT Cautions for units utilizing refrigerant RC Do not use the existing refrigerant piping. The old refrigerant and lubricant in the existing piping contains a large amount of chlorine which may cause the lubricant deterioration of the new unit. Use liquid refrigerant to charge the system. If gas refrigerant is used to seal the system, the composition of the refrigerant in the cylinder will change and performance may drop. Use low residual oil piping If there is a large amount of residual oil (hydraulic oil, etc.) inside the piping and joints, deterioration of the lubricant will result. Store the piping to be used during installation indoors with keep both ends sealed until just before brazing. (Store elbows and other joints in a plastic bag.) If dust, dirt, or water enters the refrigerant cycle, deterioration of the oil and compressor trouble may result. Use ESTR, ETHER or HAB as the lubricant to coat flares and flange connection parts. If large amount of mineral oil enter, that can cause deterioration of refrigerant oil etc. Do not use a refrigerant other than RC. If another refrigerant (R, etc.) is used, the chlorine in the refrigerant may cause the lubricant deterioration. Use a vacuum pump with a reverse flow check valve. The vacuum pump oil may flow back into the refrigerant cycle and cause the lubricant deterioration. Ventilate the room if refrigerant leaks during operation. If refrigerant comes into contact with a flame, poisonous gases will be released. [] Cautions for service After recovering the all refrigerant in the unit, proceed to working. Do not release refrigerant in the air. After completing the repair service, recharge the cycle with the specified amount of liquid refrigerant.

[] Refrigerant recharging () Refrigerant recharging process Direct charging from the cylinder. RC cylinder are available on the market has a syphon pipe. Leave the syphon pipe cylinder standing and recharge it. (By liquid refrigerant) Unit ravimeter () Recharge in refrigerant leakage case After recovering the all refrigerant in the unit, proceed to working. Do not release the refrigerant in the air. After completing the repair service, recharge the cycle with the specified amount of liquid refrigerant. [] Service tools Use the below service tools as exclusive tools for RC refrigerant. No. Tool name Specifications auge manifold Only for RC. Use the existing fitting SPECIFICATIS. (UNF/) Use high-tension side pressure of.mpa or over. Charge hose Electronic scale Only for RC. Use pressure performance of.mpa or over. as leak detector Use the detector for Ra or RC. Adapter for reverse flow check. Attach on vacuum pump. Refrigerant charge base. Refrigerant cylinder. Cautions for units utilizing refrigerant RA Do not use the existing refrigerant piping. The old refrigerant and lubricant in the existing piping contains a large amount of chlorine which may cause the lubricant deterioration of the new unit. Use low residual oil piping If there is a large amount of residual oil (hydraulic oil, etc.) inside the piping and joints, deterioration of the lubricant will result. Store the piping to be used during installation indoors and keep both ends of the piping sealed until just before brazing. (Leave elbow joints, etc. in their packaging.) If dirt, dust or moisture enter into refrigerant cycle, that can cause deterioration of refrigerant oil or malfunction of compressor. Use ester oil, ether oil or alkylbenzene oil (small amount) as the refrigerant oil applied to flares and flange connections. If large amount of mineral oil enter, that can cause deterioration of refrigerant oil etc. Charge refrigerant from liquid phase of gas cylinder. If the refrigerant is charged from gas phase, composition change may occur in refrigerant and the efficiency will be lowered. Use a vacuum pump with a reverse flow check valve. Vacuum pump oil may flow back into refrigerant cycle and that can cause deterioration of refrigerant oil etc. Use the following tools specifically designed for use with RA refrigerant. The following tools are necessary to use RA refrigerant. Tools for RA auge manifold Flare tool Charge hose Size adjustment gauge as leak detector Vacuum pump adaptor Torque wrench Electronic refrigerant charging scale Keep the tools with care. If dirt, dust or moisture enter into refrigerant cycle, that can cause deterioration of refrigerant oil or malfunction of compressor. Do not use a charging cylinder. If a charging cylinder is used, the composition of refrigerant will change and the efficiency will be lowered. Ventilate the room if refrigerant leaks during operation. If refrigerant comes into contact with a flame, poisonous gases will be released. Do not use refrigerant other than RA. If other refrigerant (R etc.) is used, chlorine in refrigerant can cause deterioration of refrigerant oil etc.

[] Cautions for service () Perform service after collecting the refrigerant left in unit completely. () Do not release refrigerant in the air. () After completing service, charge the cycle with specified amount of refrigerant. () When performing service, install a filter drier simultaneously. Be sure to use a filter drier for new refrigerant. [] Additional refrigerant charge When charging directly from cylinder Check that cylinder for RA on the market is syphon type. Charging should be performed with the cylinder of syphon stood vertically. (Refrigerant is charged from liquid phase.) Unit ravimeter [] Service tools Use the below service tools as exclusive tools for RA refrigerant. No. Specifications auge manifold Only for RA Use the existing fitting specifications. (UNF/) Use high-tension side pressure of.mpa or over. Charge hose Only for RA Use pressure performance of.mpa or over. Electronic scale as leak detector Use the detector for Ra, RC or RA. Adaptor for reverse flow check Attach on vacuum pump. Refrigerant charge base Refrigerant cylinder Only for RA Top of cylinder (Pink) Cylinder with syphon Refrigerant recovery equipment

Linear expansion valves open/close through the use of a stepping motor after receiving the pulse signal from the indoor controller board. Valve position can be changed in proportion to the number of pulse signals. <Connection between the indoor controller board and the linear expansion valve> Relay connector Resistance (K") - Temperature (:) Controller board DCV Linear expansion valve Brown White Blue M [ Brown [ [ [ Yellow Red Orange Red Blue Orange Yellow White Drive circuit [ [ [ [ Connector(CN) Note : Since the number of the connector at the controller board side and the relay connector are different, follow the color of the lead wire.

<Output pulse signal and the valve operation> Output (Phase) { { { { Output ➁ Linear expansion valve operation Open Valve position (capacity) A E Close Open D C Closing a valve : Opening a valve : The output pulse shifts in above order.. When linear expansion valve operation stops, all output phase become.. At phase interruption or when phase does not shift in order, motor does not rotate smoothly and motor will locks and vibrates. Outdoor unit RA model : pulse Outdoor unit R/RC model : pulse Opening a valve all the way When the switch is turned on, pulse closing valve signal will be send till it goes to point A in order to define the valve position. When the valve moves smoothly, there is no noise or vibration occurring from the linear expansion valves : however, when the pulse number moves from E to A or when the valve is locked, more noise can be heard than in a normal situation. Noise can be detected by placing the ear against the screw driver handle while putting the screw driver tip to the linear expansion valve. Close B Pulse number Extra tightening (~ pulse) ➂ Trouble shooting Symptom Operation circuit failure of the micro processor. Linear expansion valve mechanism is locked. Short or breakage of the motor coil of the linear expansion valve. Valve doesn't close completely. Wrong connection of the connector or contact failure. Check points Disconnect the connector on the controller board, then connect LED for checking. k" LED When power is turned on, pulse signals will output for seconds. There must be some defects in the operation circuit if the LED does not light while the signals are output or keeps lighting even after the signals stop. Motor will idle and make a ticking noise when the motor is operated while the linear expansion valve is locked. This ticking sound is the sign of the abnormality. Measure the resistance between each coil (white-red, yellowbrown, orange-red, blue-brown) using a tester. It is normal if the resistance is in the range of Ω ±%. To check the linear expansion valve, operate the indoor unit in fan mode and at the same time operate other indoor units in cooling mode, then check the pipe temperature <liquid pipe temperature> of the indoor unit by the outdoor multi controller board operation monitor. During fan operation, linear Thermistor (Liquid pipe) Linear expansion expansion valve is closed completely and if there is any leaking, detecting temperature of the thermistor will go lower. If the detected temperature is much lower than the temperature indicated in the remote controller, valve it means the valve is not closed all the way. It is not necessary to exchange the linear expansion valve, if the leakage is small and not affecting normal operation. Check the color of lead wire and missing terminal of the connector. Countermeasures Exchange the indoor controller board at drive circuit failure. Exchange the linear expansion vale. Exchange the linear expansion valve. If large amount of thermistor is leaked, exchange the linear expansion valve. Disconnect the connector at the controller board, then check the continuity.
