Planning for Future Urban Area Subwatershed Studies Will address environmental matters associated with each major watercourse Conceptual Master Plan / Master Transportation and Servicing Studies For entire Future Urban Area - will confirm Greenway System, high level road/transit network, servicing, employment areas, neighbourhoods, mixed-use areas and phasing Secondary Plans/MESPs Specific land use policies for smaller areas/communities Plans of Subdivision/Building Permits Creation of lots and buildings 3
Conceptual Master Plan The Conceptual Master Plan will: - provide the planning framework for the Secondary Planning and Development Approvals process - be a non-statutory document endorsed by Council The Conceptual Master Plan has two components: - Community Structure Plan for the entire Future Urban Area in North Markham - Key Directions and Implementation Document 4
Community Structure Plan components (schedules): - Greenway System (including major parks) - Transportation Network (road, transit, cycling, walking) - Servicing Network (major infrastructure) - Land use (neighbourhoods, mixed-use areas, employment) - Major community facilities (including high school(s)) and infrastructure - Cultural heritage resources 5 Conceptual Master Plan

Each sub-watershed will be studied to address environmental matters such as natural heritage, groundwater, surface water, watercourses associated with each major watercourse. 7 Sub-Watershed Studies The Future Urban Area contains four sub-watersheds: - Bruce - Berczy - Eckhardt - Robinson
Servicing and Transportation Studies Three Engineering-related Studies are being initiated: - Water - Wastewater - Transportation Each study will provide infrastructure requirements to feed into the Sub-watershed Studies analysis and the Conceptual Master Plan. 8
